    Re: XHC wireless pendant

This would be the best solution. Releasing the source code, all the configuration problems will be quickly solved and it will be also the possibility to create alternate versions to suit one's needs....

    Re: XHC wireless pendant

With the latest plugin version, the MPG mode is visible improved but it still looses a lot of steps.

    This is a perfect approach:

And the most important thing is not to loose any steps....

    Re: TB6564AHQ (THB6064AH) PCB design

Yes this is the way I have calculated, 60% if the motor amps. But now it is at 35%. I am curious if at lower voltage the drawn current will rise. Will check later.

I will lower the voltage and...

    Re: TB6564AHQ (THB6064AH) PCB design

I was thinking that probably the output voltage and current is different from the input but then why the psu is calculated by the motor amps rating? And I ended up with a huge toroid.

    My stepers...

    Re: TB6564AHQ (THB6064AH) PCB design

    Hello,

I have just wired everything, and set the Vref at 2V with the running motor (I have the special rev.1.1 drive) and I got a ridiculous motor torque. Then I turned up the VR1 until I got a...

    toroidal transformer sizing

    Hi all

I need to order my transformer and I'm not sure about the power I need.

    Hi D.L

My build is not progressing very well. I'm stuck with the linear guides, the steel flats I bought are not straight and it is hard ho have them grounded cheap at that length.

The holding torque will be the same as long you will give the 3A per phase respective 4.2A peak from the driver. But the torque will drop more rapid if you give less voltage. For your 4.2V and 3.2mH...

Of course it will be scaled down, which means I will not be able to run the machine as fast as I wish, but I hope it will be fine until I'll upgrade to 7A gecko drives.

    Hi lucas,

After finalising my machine design I calculated that I need more power than the THB6064 can give but I cannot afford better drives at the moment. Now the question is if I buy bigger...

If I got it right, the drive must provide the peak current which is 1.41 times Amps/Phase. This means that with the 4.5A drive I can run only a 3.2A stepper at its full potential.

    Maybe I can...

Now I'm mostly concerned about the weight of the gantry. When I started the project I was thinking to have it between 100 and 150 lbs but now the nearly 200 lbs sounds heavy to me.

    Thanks for your fast response.

Everything is more clear now. So the drive doesn't need to "know" the number of steps per revolution the stepper has? this is only the software's "problem"...
