Guys, please avoid getting personal. It's fine to discuss what you like or don't like about Fadal, we just do not want this to degenerate into an argument.
Thank you.
Dave
How did you resolve this? I have the same problem.
Dave
I did it.
You can upgrade the whole thing, 5k for the -5 control upgrade and about 2k for a new PC. Rigid tap will run you another 2k.
I used to have a 95 VMC15.
My posts about it are...
Boy I got that one wrong. I never would have thought he'd get any jail time. Figured he'd buy his way out somehow.
Keep it under 80 ipm if you want accuracy, maybe slower, like 60 if you REALLY want accuracy. :)
Roughing? Rip it up....200 ipm
IMO of course.
Dave
Phase perfect.
Yes I should have a safety line at the top, manually adding G90 now. I have no idea how to alter my post right now but I'm finding out.
To answer a question above, I just spent a lot of time...
That did it.

Thanks again
Dave
36 and 56 are both off. Is that where I want them?
Sure I'll check setting 36 and 56 but what should they be set as?
G52 is zeroed out
G92 is zeroed
I run a program, three different ones today, at each cycle start the z axis comes about 4" from where it should be (4" above where it should be) and starts running normally. I hit reset, and cycle...

I had a 95 VMC 15 for about 4-5 years. It was a great little machine, cut anything I put in there. Mine had a "real" 10 HP Baldor motor DC drives. I upgraded the control so I could have 4 megs of...
I've used at least 10 different brands of USB thumb drives on mine never had any problems. I even used a 4 gig Sony pocket drive. The port will provide power to the drive but I don't know how much....
PB, Haas parts are cheap as dirt. Try buying parts from Mazak sometime.
I took off that drip table, got tired of not being able to use the long handles.
Kurt 688s fit fine you can get three on there easy.
With rigid tap the z axis servo and spindle are linked so the feed rate / spindle speed are sync'd, the tap can be held in a rigid holder (collet chuck). No need for floating tap holders which can...
What they should make is a gang tool chucker with a 10" swing, 'bout 10" in Z would be more than enough. maybe 1k lbs that could sit up on a stand, enclosed. 2hp, 3-4k rpm. CSS and threading. ...
the control needs a "find the center of the circle" function. Where you could touch off three points of an arc and the control finds the center for you.
How about improving the coolant return? ...
I've run a Fadal VMC15 (15hp rated baldor 10 real HP) and a Mazak QT-8 (10hp rated 7.5 real hp) at the same time off of a DPC-20 connected to an 80A breaker. Never had any problems.
Oh I remember 2200 bucks, around there. He's right you can turn it on free for 200 hrs. The instructions were included on a little card in your install kit.
No refresh problems, the G code runs by so fast you can't read it when i'm doing a 3d program.
The screen is real easy on the eyes, hard to believe you would want one twice as small, makes no...
It makes for a much smoother motion with 3d tool paths only, it does cut cycle time a bit. It did not change my profiles or pockets at all.
