Friction-free rotation of gear components for rolling mills The rolling of steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals requires an extremely large amount of force. For this reason, the technical specifications for the gear components including the roller drive shafts are exceptionally high. To minimize the friction between the various components a renowned, globally operating supplier of surface finishing equipment is smoothing the surface of the complex parts by utilizing the Isotropic Superfinish (ISF) technology, also known as chemically supported vibratory finishing developed by REM Chemicals Inc.
