I'm about to buy a laser cutter/engraver. Supplier proposed me to choose from LaserCut or LaserWork.
Those are 2 different motion controllers.
Please advice since what should I choose since I didn't had any experience with those.

I would recommend to select a machine with a DSP AWC 608 and the software lasercad because this are the only affordable system who gets updatet all the time, the Lasercad program is totaly different then the lasercut and laserworks.

LaserCut is more popular so it is easier to get help if needed.
And do not mix Lasercad with LaserCut.

Thank you both for your opinion.
Unfortunately I have to choose from LaserCut or LaserWork.
I have read somewhere an opinion that LaserWork it's more updated or is updated more frequently .
Also I have understood that LaserCut it's stacked on release 5.1 ? is it that bad ?

REading more about LaserCAd ( AWC608 Commercial DSP CO2 Laser Engraving/ Cutter Controller ) I have found out something that worries me :
Is it true that LaserCut does not work on windows 7 ?

what materials would you like to work, base on the materials, then you can choose LaserCut or LaserWork.

LaserCut WORKS on Windows and the most know wersion is 5.3

I don't want to limit my activity only to cut something I may need to engrave as well.

But my first application would be to cut wood with thickness of 4-6 mm.

@cinematic2 - my question was if LaserCut it's working on Win 7.
