    V26 Trial/Demo

Is it just a Demo that's now available in V26?
I originally downloaded a Trial of V25 but as a novice 5 days was insuficient time to learn CAD/CAM from scratch so I bought a license and learned to use it.
I've just spent the time to apply a clean build of Windows to a spare drive to try V26 only to find it's a Demo not a Trial I've downloaded and so anything I do with it will be instantly filed under B1N.
    :-(

I think BoB will have to activate the Demo.Call them.Or look for an E-Mail.

Maybe it's a sign that I should stick with V25?

Are you saying you bought a license of V25 and now want to use V26? If you are already familiar with V25, then I'm not sure what advantage a trial would have over a demo. The purpose of the demo is to evaluate whether or not you need the new features, not to be useful in any other significant way. The only thing I'd ever be concerned about when buying new CAM software is if the post processor will be compatible with the controller, but since you already have V25, you should have the same success in V26 as V25 as that goes.

Also, if you are serious about buying V26 and really want a trial version instead of a demo version, I would bet that a call to Al or someone at Bobcad would be worthwhile.

I read my OP as primarily a question - Is it just a Demo that's now available in V26?
Yes, I am saying I bought a license of V25 but I'm also saying that it would be nice to trial V26. If I knew I wanted to use V26 I'd have phoned Kevin for a price. Now seemed an opportune point to try V26 as the number of problems with V26 being reported here has dropped off somewhat.

So far if this was a question on QI I'd be expecting a question mark on a stick to be played at any moment ;-)

I just assumed things would be the same with 26 as they were with 25 and that what was stated on the BC site to be a fully functional trial would be, at this point it seemed like an opportunity to try the version I'll probably end up upgrading to for a few days without too much time down the pan whilst having the ability to drop back into V25 if I hit a problem that slowed me up too much.

No biggie, V25 is doing what I ask of it so I'll ask BC about a V26 trial in a few months when I next have some spare time to throw at it. Quite possibly I'll just wait until there's something I want to do which V25 can't handle or something renders it impossible to continue running V25,
    Regards,
    Nick

The DEMO on the website is a demo of all versions . If you had a five day trial of V25 at one time that would have had to be emailed to you by sales or you used the install Cd . The full install is fully unlocked for 5 days or registered which ever comes first. This is incase you install and cannot register for a few days. The DEMO on the website is to evaluate the software to see if it is what you are wanting to use. Its limitations are it will not post Gcode and if a file is saved in demo mode it will not open in licensed mode. You can always call BoCAD to get a live demo on the software . they can show you any part you part have concerns with and answer any questions you may have on them.

    Thanks Mike,
I guess I read the bit on your website which still says -

"To find out how powerful BobCAD is, you can download a trial version of our CAD CAM software and within just a few minutes, you will have access to a full and unrestricted version. "

    and somehow misunderstood, ;-)

Found it , will have website corrected.

Try contacting sales they may be still able to send you a 5 day link to evaluate the software that way.

    Mike,
If you Google the full text of my quote without the quotation marks then one of the top couple of results (which contains the text in question) will be where this is at on the website.
