    v22 on windows 8

    had version 22 installed on a laptop that is now dead. new computer has windows 8. this is a 64bit system. what do I need to do to get this installed and running? going crazy trying to figure this out.

    You need a 64bit version of the install package, if V22 had one.
    Presumably it came on the media (if you got media) or if you downloaded was a download option when you downloaded your install. Always download and archive all available install options for any package you license, JIC ;-)

    64 bit os will install and run 32 bit apps. V22 was 32 bit.

    First be sure you have upgraded win 8 to 8.1 (free)

    Then look here:

    Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows - Windows Help

    V22 needed all compat settings like disable desktop composition etc. Also needs run as admin setting.

    Best bet is to use that troubleshooter to actually install the app instead of running it on an already installed app. I can dig up better details about doing that later when i get home.
