The eternal doubt: Spindle, VFD, BOB How to make them speak each other?

    Hi,

I'm building my first CNC, almost everything it's connect and working except for spindle control.

I bought a chinese bob but I dont know how to make my spindle, vfd and bob speak each other.

I manage to connect the VFD and spindle to work manually but I want to use mach 3 to control everything. I'm using a WEG CFW500 VFD I know to configure all the parameters but dont know how to wire the anything from BOB to VFD and spindle.

    Thanks.

Spindle Control (DigiSpeed) : Homann Designs!, The preferred CNC Component Supplier

Have a look here at the Homman designs web site and I think the DC-02XL would be close to what you want. Look for the user manual where there is a wealth of info that will get you started.

I hope it's ok to reference his work here, if not I will delete this post.
    Rich.

    Hi,

Problem solved. The breakout board wasn't working as it should be. I'd replace the bad one and everithing it's ok now.

    Following the wiring diagram:

Now I'm trying to implement a charge pump circuit, any tip about that?

    Thanks for that

I will be running with just 'Enable' to secure systeme on or off. Check my post about this board http://www.cnczone.com/forums/steppe...53852-cnc.html
Let me know if it helps or not.

I need to tell something else about this board. I dont know why but the 0 to +10v signal it's not a steady signal. In the begining I though that was some kind of interference from VFD but even when I'd turn on the system without the VFD the the signal isn't steady.

I would try a different GND for the analogue side instead of taking a GND form relay for the VFD

    Hi friend,

Did you manage to make the spindle work with this Bob?

I could make it start and stop but can't control speed.
