Hi guys Im pretty new to solidworks and just had a few complications I have run into. the first one is I am making a j bolt first off and I have made the j bolt and when I go to draw a circle to extrude it it will not let me draw the circle. Could that be because I am drawing on the wrong plane? My second question is smart dimensions is rounding everything to the tenth and I need them to be in the hundredth is there a way to change that? thanks guys I know these are simple questions and I appreciate the help.

The help menu and tutorials can answer many of these type questions faster than posting and will help you navigate the software easier.

Unlike most software, the Solidworks tutorials are awesome. Run through them all, and you will have a good working knowledge of solid works. The question you are asking above will be answered in the first tutorial.

But essentially, you need to create another drawing on the plane that the circle will be on. Right click the appropriate plane in the feature manager, and select new drawing.

If that terminology does not make sense to you, then do the tutorial. It will help you learn the user interface.

To correct the decimal places, go to OPTIONS menu, DOCUMENT PROPERTIES tabs, and one of the menu selection specifies the number of decimal places for the units.

Again, the first tutorial covers that!
