Greetings All,
Ydna,
You have no worries on your spindle. That is just the way a DC (i.e. brushed servos) machine stalls. It's very spooky the first time a person hears it because it feels like...
Greetings,
I did what WallyL7 suggested. It was a good idea I had not thought of. I would like to ask for a little more detail about his method. As I worked thru the process I found that it let me...

I have proved it many times over, if a tool is sticking, 9 out of 10 times it has black oxide on the taper. Scotch Brite it off and you will be good to go.
Hope this helps.

Thanks All,
You guys have been a lot of help. With your help there is no telling how much $$ has been saved by average Joe's like me who are not afraid to climb in and turn a wrench. After...

I really haven't been orienting the spindle a lot since the grind. Most of my work is at 6000 RPM and I haven't worked up the nerve to run it yet, so I have just been turning...
Hi guys,
I realize this is an old post but it is relevant to the problem I'm having. On a 1994 VF4 the solenoids were sticking, I ran it 200 RPM and it fell out of gear and ground for about 2...

Sorry, I wasn't as clear as I should have been. The noise is present while the spindle is stopping under deceleration. It is loud enough it makes me grit my teeth and pucker up. Common...

Installed new board and all is well.
