I built my table to be able to use a router on mdf for making composite molds too. and maybe some light aluminum in the future..
The problem is if I grab the motor (the large gear) and do jerky...
I still have deflection in my gantry if I force it to. What the hell. I don't want to have to rebuild a gantry, this one was expensive as hell.
If I just base it off the edge of my platform I would be at .0625 over 8ft. I'm thinking I'll just do the getting one side down thing. Hopefully that will work. Then on to squaring that gantry up.
MY rails are beefy as hell and are on precision ground bar stock that follows the underside for the full 13ft. They were in the GM plant where the equinox was made, so they are already true. It's...
Sweet. Getting flat and level isn't something I really have a problem with, I just can't get these rails exactly parallel
I'm almost done with my 5x10 table, but I was curious what are people using to get x and y perfectly square and to get rails that are about 6 feet a part perfectly parallel?
Sorry to be a noob and at the tail end of this, there are a lot of pages in this thread now. Has anyone seen this 1.5kw with NSF bearings? Supposedly?
New 1.5KW Spindle Motor NSK bearing 24000...
I found a used hypertherm 1650 for 2k, but dont those require 3 phase?
Yeah but I can't get the equivalent of an 80amp for 1200 with them around here.
Have a chance to buy a slightly used 101 with I believe the shorter leads for 1200. Is it a good unit? It's that or an everlast IGBT unit thats 80 amps for 600... I'm looking for resale value down...
Just single phase
I need these specs specificly, but minimum orders are dumb (I'd rather give them 35 dollars for the one part than be a pack rat and store things I don't need) eCookie to anyone who knows of a...
Who has the best prices? Recently I've been using metal supermarkets due to them being close, but they are incredibly high compared to when I've made the drive to the city. Anyone have any...
OGE now has off peak and peak pricing. During the day my electricity is close to 23 cents kwh from 2-7. Sometimes it can go as high as 46 cents. This is to be green and try and keep from needing...
Well I got it to ignore codes by setting e stop and home switches to port 0, but nothing moves. I just want to see a motor spin :(
It came up with a warning message about that saying it would flip all of them. I just disabled all the inputs too. It still gets it.
Trying to do bench testing. I loaded the XML, have charge pump off, green light. Motor is engaged in that it won't free spin. Pins 10 and 12 are grounded. The reset button will not go off. No...
wait, by the way, nema 23 can do 570oz?

Dang. Well I need a custom kit, and am running something like 4:1, will it be able to mill aluminum at 380oz? it doesnt need to be fast. Also someone had a link somewhere to a 12ft rack for 80...

Have a bead on some linear rails that I'd like to do my cnc setup with. 8ft rails, round stock, for y, and 13 foot of the i believe thk styled (looks like and I sort off?) rails. From heavy duty...
Looking at building a table that has over a 5ftx12ft travel, with a gecko 540 controller. Main use will be plasma and laser cutting, with possibly a dremel thrown in for cutting some mdf for speaker...
About to begin building a cnc plasma table, and wanting 8ft by 4ft of travel. I was wondering who had a good deal on them, a tight tolerance would be nice but it is a plasma, not a mill, and is only...
I'm just starting out, will be milling smaller car parts and pulleys. Eventual CNC conversion. any opinions?

S how the heck does one move it. I have a decent sized truck.. so guessing trailer?
I offered him 2, he came back with 3, asked for more specs and what it comes with. I'm poor college student so i might low ball him below my first offer because it seems he wants to move it.
I am wanting to by a mill, found this one with cnc, rather new to machining but I know what I can get this at and was seeing what you all would pay for it.

Found http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/tls/794872478.html, and am interested in machining parts for cars and many other things. Starting out with replacement aluminum pulleys and making my way up....
where could one just buy the prebuilt frame, rod, and bearings, and just add there own controller and servos? Or a kitt that you can build the frame with? I saw one recently, but can't seem to find...
