I know the machine can do it. I have made threads this way manually programming them, it's not hard at all just using "X" , "C" and "Z". I'm just trying to find out if Gibbscam can do this.

No, sorry for the confusion I just don't see anyway to thread mill using the "X" and "C" axis instead of the "X" and "Y" axis in Gibbscam. I do not have a "Y" axis on my machine for the sub spindle...
Has anyone used Gibbscam to threadmill a hole using "X" and "C" axis.
I don't have a "Y" axis on my sub spindle tool post and would like to produce a 7/16 - 24 internal thread using a .290 dia multi...
Yes that works good.
Thanks Simpy
Thanks ajesms
I'll try that and see what happens.
No problem sld4121 this does not come up often and its easy to manually insert a G50 preset. I just was wondering if Gibbscam could do this somehow.
Thanks for your time and effort on this.
If I rotate the geometry it will cut on the "X" minus side of the center line. Our lathe does not have enough travel in the "X" minus direction to do this.
This is why I need to rotate the "C" axis...
I am trying to find a way to mill a chamfer the outside of this 1.375 radius profile only with the "C" axis start at 180 degrees instead of "0" degrees. I need to do this using "polar and...
I ended up using an internal lathe grooving tool and in milling mode moved the tool to the start position using an incremental program that rotated "C" axis 180 degrees while moving "Z" minus and...
Looking for a way to produce these oil grooves on attached sketch with Gibbscam on a CNC lathe. I have available standard 2 axis machines and Mori Seiki and Okuma MTM machines with "C" and "Y" axis...
Solid Edge has them all beat from my expierence with CAD systems.
I have seen these units that Fanuc technicians use. What I don't like is not having a full keyboard to name downloaded to our filing system format we use ( ie: AB-12 ) etc. Other than that they would...
Has anyone made a a face thread or scroll using Gibbscam? I am currently doing this by doing a face roughing routine with .005" depth of cuts going .120" deep and then manually editing each pass to...

Thanks for your input. . However if canned cycles were the problem it would be easy to solve. We have 40 machines with posts that were that simple. "Tool management", "Tool Monitoring"...

No we switched from the Mac platform about 6 years ago to the windows version. As I stated in another reply, this is a new 8 axis Okuma MacTurn 250 multi task machine and Gibbs say they must...
Hi
I am a newbie to this forum and just feeling my way around.
I have been a Gibbs user since the days of the early Macs when that was the only platform that Gibbs used. My problem is with a new...
