The center of gravity from the pivot is what determines the period of the pendulum. So it's the length not the weight that matters. If you look at Gary's plans, the weight of the steel bar he uses is...
You can keep the weights from crashing into your pendulum by shortening the string or whatever you are using to tie back to the drum. Set up this way, this clock will run about 12-18 hrs on a wind,...
The distance between tips on the pallet should be about 1.87" if that helps any. The dia of your escape wheel should be exactly 2".
Mike
No problem. But there actually isn't a gap between the teeth of the escape wheel and the faces of the pallet. Once you get the size of the parts correct, you'll see that there won't be a gap. When...
Whoa! I see your problem now. It looks like either your escape gear or the pallet were cut on different scales. The distance between the "teeth" of the pallets should be such that it doesn't quite...
I'm about finished with mine. Can you be more specific about what your problem might be? Perhaps you can post a picture of what you think is odd looking? If you used the dxf files to cut your parts...
Andy,
Its probably noise. Another option besides increasing the debounce setting is to solder a cap across the lead at Pin 15 and gnd. Doesn't have to be much 47uF or so.
Mike
Zenmasher,
If you are going to only apply the CNC for the application you spoke about in wood or foam, then the Romaxx system will get you there quickly. But you are asking for options...one is...
Is it supposed to take over 2 hrs to download BMP Bender? OMG!!!
Does anyone know if running a PC 7301 laminate trimmer at a reduced speed (thru a Harbor Freight speed control) damages or reduces its life? I'm running about half the wide-open speed. TIA
Mike
After re-reading you last post, I realized that you may not understand that "zeroing" is setting the height of the bottom of the probe tip. It has nothing to do with the depth of you mill. If you...
You'll set the top of the guitar body (highest point) as Z=0 and then set Probe Depth to -1.5 (or better yet -1.6, that way you'll probe all of the lowest points). You might want to try a few tests...
Rich, are you using the plugin that Art wrote for 3D probing? If so, one of the entries you need to make is a Probe Depth value. This would be the lowest that the probe would move down the Z-axis ,...
Just curious...how long did it last? Did you ever replace the brushes?
The guys at Precision Bits recommend the Bosch Colt (1hp) because it has one of the lowest runouts they've encountered. I...
When functioning normally, the tip moves in some direction off its axis, dependent on the angle it contacts the surface that is being mapped, and forces a circuit to open. The probing plugin...
In addition to what Hyrum said (surfacing a spoil board) you should also spend a little time squaring up the x and y axis from actual cuts made at 90 degrees to each other. It might require a few...

Iman,
I did a little patent searching and found that the phosphine oxide that is used in your material is not cured at visible wavelengths...it still needs UV to cure. Is there something on the...
My attitude is dangerous and you're recommending that the stuff should be applied to thick skin to test out??? That's rich. I only said that the labels are there to protect the manufacturer's...
Oy! Chemistry preached by non-chemists is painful to read...
1,6-hexanediol diacrylate is used as a crosslinker in acrylic plastics.
N,N-dimethylpropionamide is probably added to dissolve the...
Adam,
Your motor set up may be right...but only if you're doing full stepping. If you are doing microstepping then that needs to be factored in as well. Sounds like your driver board is...

No problem!! Good luck with your projects.

Forgot to add the G31 command...
When issued, this command will move the probe tip in a straight line to a new position requested. For example, if the current X position is 1.0000, Y is 1.0000,...
Yes, you should be able to select any vacant pin connection and configure Mach3 for probing. I'm not familiar with the Renishaw probe other than in name. I assume that it has three connections to be...
If you are using the Digitize wizard from the Wizards menu, when you start the program running, a menu will pop up to ask what the file name will be an where you want it stored. You might want to try...
Try closing the dxf file in your drawing file (Inkscape) first before trying to load into Lazycam. AutoCad 2000 does the same thing for me if I don't close it first.
Good luck,
Mike
Have you tried upgrading to the latest version of Mach3 and LazyCam? With the latest version, you can drag and drop the order of the tool paths very easily.
Mike
Why not upgrade to the newer version of Lazy CAM? With it you can easily re-order the sequence of opeations by dragging and dropping. I'm not familiar the earlier versions, but I'm using Version...
