So i reground the ballnut to give a little more clearance under the table, repacked, and oiled with some vactra 2 and its running a little better now. Still some noise coming from it, but not like...
  2. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Im pretty sure i put it back together correctly, same as i did the y axis and it runs smooth. I cleaned it out as best i could, im going to pull it back apart tonight and see if i missed anything. I...
  3. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

I took it apart and cleaned the balls and reinstalled and im still getting a lot of rattling. Im actually having a lot of trouble now with the x axis. I cant get over 180ipm without it loosing steps...

any ideas on the rattling coming from my x axis ballscrew?
  5. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Thanks Hoss! Definitely some 80's, maybe even some 0% billet lowers. I also have plans for a few different edc items I would like to produce, possibly a knife as well.

Still have some mods on the...

  7. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Well, i tried switching the x and y connections to see if the problem still exists and the x seems fine now but my y jam nuts keep losing and causing the oldham connector to disconnect.

    UPDATE: I...
  8. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Ok guys, i have the x and y axis assembled and the y seems to be working fine but my x axis stepper is acting strange. It keeps changing direction of rotation and then freezing up, any ideas as to...
  9. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Thanks for the info guys. Also what what would be the best way to cut the partial radius on the x axis ballnut mount?
  10. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Got the new controller board in today and I'm back up and running! Started working on my mount and ended up milling the bearing pockets in the y-axis extension about .020 oversize:(. Is this going...
  11. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Yeah its the controller, but i just got off the phone with grizzly and they are going to replace it. Hopefully it will be here by Friday! I may go ahead and order a kbmm-125 and a new motor anyways...

    Anyone have one laying around?
  13. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

  14. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

I have fans but I'm going to wait and see how much heat is actually generated before I mount any.
  15. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Had a productive weekend, finished getting all electronics wired and mounted in the new box. I also picked up some 4in led accent lights from walmart to mount around the spindle. I ended up blowing a...
  16. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Finally received my z axis driver this week! I now have everything needed for the conversion. I have been making the mounting brackets when i have time, business has been crazy busy. Planning on...
  17. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Yeah the output on the C11 Bob is analog so the reading isn't going to be exact.
I don't have a lathe so I had to improvise with the mill to make the pins for the x-axis ballnut mount.

  18. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Ok guys, i believe i have resolved my spindle issue. After much reading and tinkering, i found that the one setting i was not setting back was the kernal speed i had in the original setup of 45khz....
  19. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

    I'm not using pwm.
  20. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Sorry forgot to mention the linearity, that was the first thing I tried.
  21. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

In spindle pulleys i set pulley 1 with a max rpm of 3000, after turning the spindle on it goes to max and the adjustment works but its in huge increments around 600 rpm. In motor tuning the spindle...

  24. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

  25. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Yes, spindle control, the C11 has it built in. That's why i purchased it over the c10, so i wouldn't have multiple boards. Just having trouble finding good info on using spindle control with this...
  26. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build

Not much accomplished last night on the conversion other than testing motor tuning and researching spindle control and limit switch wiring. I did finish up the last project I had for the manual mill....
  27. Re: [Build Thread] Ballisticarmsco's G0704 build
