    Re: Corrugated cuts in Acrylic

It might have been a loose lens...

We wound up getting an old empty camper-gas cylinder to pump air into/out-of... to act like a giant capacitor etc... problem solved. Simply re-fitting the lens...

    Re: Corrugated cuts in Acrylic

Turns out that the air-assist pump was a pulsing diaphragm type thing - so the pulsed air shooting out the nozzle was translating itself into the cut.

    Corrugated cuts in Acrylic

    Hi all

I have a 1 year old Bodor 6050 machine with a Ruida controller. 4 month old 80w tube. I'm sending designs to it using RDworks

When cutting acrylic (or anything, but it shows up with...

Re: Heat Stress Fractures in Acrylic

Yea - I used to have terrible problems with honeycomb marks... but they seem not to be happening (touch-wood) at the moment.

The only thing that's changed is that I've gone from a 60w to an 80w...

Re: Heat Stress Fractures in Acrylic

I asked my local laser-cutting fraternity, and they all replied:

"have you cleaned the acrylic with meths/alcohol? - the only time I've seen this is when I've done that".

    I wasn't doing this...

    Heat Stress Fractures in Acrylic

    Hi All

I have a bit of a conundrum - I make (a lot of) little acrylic boxes using an 80w 6040 C02 bodor machine. It works pretty well, but if I'm cutting a 6040 sized bit of 4mm thick acrylic, I...
  7. Re: Laser-Cutter X-axis resetting to different location each time.

Hiya - thanks for your reply.

The limit switches don't appear to do anything at all. The limits are set in software I think... so if I try to move the head right... it moves to where it thinks...
  8. Re: Laser-Cutter X-axis resetting to different location each time.

    Hi all

    Any ideas about this?

We reattached all the wire to the drivers (some were a bit loose), but it's still resetting in the wrong place... when it finishes a job it doesn't move to its...

  10. Laser-Cutter X-axis resetting to different location each time.

    Hi all... back again.

One of my laser-cutters has started exhibiting strange behaviour on the X-axis.

For a while it's been having sporadic issues with slipping... which usually happens with...

Re: AWC608 working with Windows 10?

Somewhere between those two solutions, and a couple of stops and starts, everything now appears to be working perfectly.

Thanks for your help everyone. Most appreciated.

    AWC608 working with Windows 10?

    Hi all

I've got a laser-cutter working with an AWC608... it's currently running with an old XP machine running lasercad - but I'd like to swap that machine out for a windows 10 one.

    Does anyone...

    Re: Belt Tightening?

    That would be fantastic :)

Actually, if you did a series of "how to tune a laser-cutter" videos, you'd probably drum up a fair bit of business off the back of being "go-to-guys" for advice.

    Thanks for your input anyway.

A big part of the reason these forums are so helpful to such a lot of people, is that after-sales support on Chinese laser-cutters is pretty much non-existent... but...
