Since the work piece is 1/8" Birch, I do have a little issue with warping of the sheet itself. I think the pin idea is AWESOME though. Are there ways to flatten the worksheet onto pins?

If you're doing 1/2" plexi I would use between a 2" an 4". probably a 4"
I cut VERY intricate pieces out of wood/matboard. 1000s of cuts for every piece, and each of those pieces can range from being a small 1/8x1/8" square up to weird larger sizes. I'm having issues with...
Tubes are expensive. It's part of owning a laser

Should be like this. Also keep in mind that if the last mirror has it coming in at an angle, the beam will go wonky through the...
Make sure your lens is put in the right direction. The rounded side goes up.
Also check the alignment on a TON of parts of your bed. Whenever I see ghosting like this, it's due to the alignment...
My opinion has always been: Buy 3 Chinese lasers instead of 1 USA laser. I just purchased a 12x18" laser from china for $2500. The smallest Epilogue is what.. $12,000? If the quality it close or as...
We are hoping to convert a 220v laser to 110v. I know the Laser Power Supply can be switched easily to 110V as well as the control Power Supply. Are there any other things I would need to change? It...
I've been trying to find a solution to this as well. I got the largest aquarium pump I could find it I feel like it still is barely pushing any air out of the nozzle of my Rabbit laser.
I bought...
Update here:
New drivers have the X and Y up and running, however they move in the opposite direction. Very strange because the drivers are the same model as the old ones. No wires have been...
I was able to get the Y axis to run on the the Z axis driver, so I suspect the XY drivers went bad. Got replacements coming and I'll report back after I try it
Oray,
Can you move the laser head with your hands easily when the machine is turned on? If not, your driver power supply might be dead.
No loose wires. Suppose I'll try a new driver, but it seems odd that two of the 3 drivers would go at the time time.
Hey Jon,
I think I understand what you mean. I moved my Z axis to the Y Axis control slot on the Leetro board and voila, the Y-axis on the control pad now moves the Z axis. I think this confirms the...
Took the cover off the Leetro controller and when I try to jog X and Y a light comes on, which leads me to think that is OK.
I swapped the Z axis driver wires with the Y axis and it doesn't move...
I've got a 36x48" Chinese laser that's been working OK for a couple years now. Right now, it turns on fine and can download programs fine. You can jog the Z axis normally, but the X-Y axis don't do...
I currently own a 4x8' Boss laser running 170w. It's great and can cut 1/2" wood decently... but it has 2 main problems: Power and Speed. We cut 1/4" plywood all the time, but the machine can't move...
I have an 80w Rabbit Laser that the company I purchased from refuses to service (Refer to this post:...
Ray can be VERY helpful. I truly do believe he wants the best for his customers. That being said, he's been a one-man-show and it causes problems. Every laser we have purchased through him has a...
Purchased a Rabbit Laser from Ray Scott last February. It was a used machine, but I paid FULL PRICE for it so that it would come with a 1yr warranty. From day 1, table was not level, doesn't cut a...
I purchased a laser form Rabbit Laser in February of this year. It has less than 1000hrs on it and the 80w RECI tube died (2 weeks past their tube warranty). The MFG date on the tube says it was made...
I just purchased a 4x8' laser through them. Support has been fantastic. We had some issues with the laser after install (Which is nothing new with any Chinese laser) and they went 200% above and...
That's correct. Any ides how to get it straight? can I adjust the belts?
I've just got a new laser (QX1290) and when cutting a big rectangle, it does not cut it square. Attached is a picture of the rectangle after it is flipped over and put back into the cutout. Any ideas...
I have very complicated DXF images that get as big as 4' x 6'. They include over 3000 cuts. I've spent 2 days trying to find a CAM software that will work great with the waterjet. LazyCAM can't open...
We've only cut much larger pieces since we started using the laser, so this is the first time we've gotten into this kind of thing.
I will check the mirrors and I hadn't even thought of that...
Hey all. I cut very intricate artwork out of 1/16" matboard (Which is essentially just thick card stock) on my Rabbit 80W laser. It cuts very easily (50 power and 50 speed in a straight line), but...
A small update:
Ray from Rabbit Laser came down and replaced the controller and it's not fixed. The model that was on it just didn't play nice with the rest of the system.
If it is the stepper count, what is the BEST way to calibrate that?
I think doing a big rectangle is a good idea. I'm not sure about the XY being not perpendicular. On that program it cut like that, but on other programs it does horizontal lines just fine. I'm...
