I wonder if with heavy use, the mirrors and...
ah cheers bigbird. I had it on fastest speed but i accidentally had it on way too high a DPI, once i reduced that it wasn't half flaking off.
However still getting small bits flaking off the edges...
Thanks ill try at a lower power. Maybe i need to test using different paper?
From what i'm reading isnt the green laser tape for cutting a stencil for sandblasting?
When engraving large areas of glass, I am getting this mottled effect whereby glass has flaked off in some areas and not in others.
I have tried using a soft brush to remove some, but want to...
Can you remove the table bed from the machine? If so I would recommend before using cleaning products, you don't want to start getting any residues on the lenses or mirrors.
Yes you should always...
Thanks Greolt! Im trying to find a way to buy/or make the cones you showed in your previous post for holding cylinders/glasses. Is there a certain name given to these adapters or a place you can buy...
WolfAu I have the chuck with a weike here in aus too :) Though delicate glasses may need a custom grip like Greolt shows
I have found this on youtube which shows how you could use the stepped...
:) I have a 80w 600x900 from Weike Laser and am very happy with the machine. The after sales service is impeccable and are always happy to help. I see a Weike rep has responded below.
Even 80w would...
as most people have mentioned, i think we need to take a look at the lens up close. Do you cut alot of MDF? That gives off nasty residue meaning your lens is likely clouded.
At the very least give...
cool!
with laser machines its alwasy wise to protect your eyes. There are glasses you can buy specifically made to block out wavelengths from certain lasers. Most machines come with a pair, but...
Hmm haha weird. ill have a ponder and see if i can think of anything
As far as cut width im almost certian it is defocussed. Sometimes i deliberately defocus so i can do engraving a thicker line....

So the rod which pushed up was getting caught. once i screwed it back in no more jams!!! :)
the spring keeps jamming up. I have taken apart the autofocus to see why it keeps jamming up and the spring not releasing.
Not sure yet, but it just gets stuck when u push the spring tip up

Ah thanks guys, i had just swapped out the leads and yep i could move the table using the y axis buttons, but then the y axis would only go in one direction.
Thanks Lucy, Betty just emailed me...
I'm wondering whtehr its okay to swap out the leads from the Z axis driver to the Y axis driver to see if it then affects the Y-axis to try isolate the problem.
Is this perfectly safe to do so?

hmm that is weird... so the laser is definately making it as far as the last mirror.
Have you tried doing a test laser at all four corners of the machine table? Ie go to top left, test laser, top...
I guess it comes down to what you need. Do you know what specs you require? There are many more laser companies than what you listed but target slightly different users.
- Power (80w / 100w / 120w...
So i started up my LC6090 today, alls good, then go to Z-autodatum and it instead moves the table down in the z axis. Strange so i manually press up... nothing. Manually pressing down works. So the...

Hi I have just finished setting up my laser cutter (LC6090), and have puta test file into lasercut5.3. Just some text to engrave with a rectangle cut around it. I have placed it inset about 3cm from...
Thanks guys! I didn't realise how much life you could get out of one container. I am lookign into the Dry Moly too. Might be worth experimenting with to see if it is suitable for my applications.

I've been browsing the forums and getting differing views on whether you can use a PSU designed for a different wattage laser. I realise you cannot use a PSU designed for an 80w for a 100w laser, but...
Hi,
Are there any Australians who use thermark / cermark / alternatives for metal laser marking?
Trying to find a good supplier preferably locally based or that will ship here.

Thanks Charliex for the great writeup.
I have had a little play with a Weike laser and fairly impressed for what you're paying I guess.
Has anyone bough a ThunderLaser? I am in talks with them at...
Hi guys!
Been lurking on these forums for a bit (always a great wealth of knowledge), but now am in talks to procure a 600mmx900mm Laser Cutter in the next month.
I have looked at a few...
