Thanks cncmaker , the problem for me is I'm at the bottom of africa and the supplier is across the world in Canada, if it were as easy as buying a new motor I would have...
The magnet shifted on the encoder , moved it down about 4mm and problem solved , wahoo
Found the problem , I opened up the motor and the earth wire is loose , I mean it's not bolted down , its just shoved into a little hole and thats it
If there was a dead short then the motor would not work at all ?
Is it possible that the motor burnt out from holding the spindle up , must 10kgs or so
My machine has been running great for 3 months , then yesterday it started faulting
It appears to be the motor, when I connect the motor to another drive its got the same problem
When I use...

im using the ESS (smooth stepper board)
which one did you go for in the end ?
do you use the machine ?
a quick youtube should show you how ...
i still have the same problem, drives reset randomly , hasnt reset for about 6 weeks until a few days ago .... there was a power outage in our complex and one drive lost settings
one day i will...
Oh yar ! I've seen the light !
Is it possible to add an extra bob onto my smooth stepper and have another axis ?
Would like to run a 4th and 5th on the table
so i am getting a little more comfortable with my machine and have been upping the gains
iirc its at 100-50-50 , but now there is a humm when the machine is stationary , the moment it moves it...
Also has anyone ever had this problem with the dyn3 system ?
I might swop over as the dyn3 was intended for this machine in the first place
Hey guys
I'm not using caps ....
I'm using the kit straight outta the box as I got it , with smooth stepper
I'm on 230v
Sorry for what is prolly a dumb question , but what is the point...
My system still looses eeprom or drive settings
It's not noise as I have moved the VFD , it's something to do with switching the machine on and off. It has never lost settings while running.
...
I am also using the smooth stepper , works great !! Highly recommended
Lots of detail there ...
Surely a contour cut on every raised part as a boss , and a contour cut on every pocket will sort the profile cutting , and then a z depth to remove the bulk ?
customs is gonna nail you ! its summing ridiculous like 40%
this sounds like the solution i need ....
tomas , would you mind drawing a simple schematic how you wired the caps in please ?
i find using contain and avoid areas also helps out
did you come right with the cutter ?
surely to model as a solid would have been easier and then shelled it after ?
281990
pm me a price and location please
thats was from the dyn3 kit ... i sent all the drivers back as they all blew up and they were all 'upgraded' to stand 230v
i am yet to test them
the only thing that i think could be a problem...
any idea why mine is loosing eeprom settings ?
why you selling it ? and what sort of price ?
did you ever resolve this problem ?
ive been running my system for 6 months now with a few faults along the way, nothing serious until a week ago
somehow during a cut the machine reset the zero...
Yea sure you can .... Sketch in 3d
Do a spline curve in 3d sketch mode, it's a bit daunting at first to get the spline on the correct planes , but with a little practice :-)
all you need to do is put the path to the center of the diameter of the spring ....
i think ...
