I highly doubt there would be any flex as long as it's supported well. But I really don't think mounting it on risers would be a good idea. one of the beauties of the plate is that it has alignment...
not really, the taps in the plugs are 1/4-20 so far they haven't gotten plugged up I blow them out after each run. Coolant will surely seep into the holes, but since the plate is so repeatable I...

First customer job on the Tormach and the Tosa Tooling Plate came into good use, no more individual fixtures for this guy
Thanks Dan! Thing is dead on
[QUOTE=tmarks11;1656940]Good to hear you are happy with it. Those plates sure look nice, and I can understand why people get them.
Once you start working with stuff that doesn't fit in a vise,...
I hope i'm not breaking any forum rules since the other thread is closed. But i figured with all the bad press that Dan at Tosa Tool got in the other thread, i wanted to share the good news
I got...

Al,
Just wanted to thank you for all the videos you post. The help files lack quite a bit but you're videos are a huge help, even better than the training DVD's in my opinion. Keep em coming!

Would the Morse Taper be in the base plate since the table has a thru hole? Since the taper is what aligns the 5C with the table, or would it have to be indicated in every time?
I would imagine that the 5C collect system works fine with the super spacer tables , correct?
What post processor will this use?

$650 covers 43k worth of equipment as well as some "property" coverage, but no clue what that entails. Garage and house are still covered under home owners, but very concerned about if anything...
I'd love to know these answers as well. basically I feel like I paid $650 just to keep the bank happy, awfully worried about what if the worst happened
I see, thanks for the enlightenment. How about the tilting rotary tables that Tormach sells, any drawbacks to those? and how do those compare to the super spacer ones that they sell?
could anyone tell me the advantages / disadvantages between the two? I have no 4 axis experience at all so I'm having a hard time seeing the difference between the two other than the fact that one Is...
I talked with Tormach the other day and they said that best thing to do since the #32096 load meter was not water proof was to replace it with the #31101 meter instead
I just received my 1100 yesterday and one thing I noticed is that the load meter has no place after I install the enclosure and control relocation kit.
What have others done to relocate theirs?

what does the part look like? runner system and sizes? what are the wall thicknesses, gating location and type of gate? these factors will affect injection pressure, then you take the total ...
MD and Steve are pretty much dead on. I work in the injection molding/mold making industry and this is exactly how things are priced out. people have to understand all that goes into making what they...
Tried that, didn't work. Problem was that if you use brokers, they try multiple places and of course don't tell you which ones. So one of the brokers tried my home owners insurance company, so now...
yeah, I can almost guarantee that my home owners will drop me come November since they know and they already tried to drop me once before.
Funny how that works, I'm required by law to have...
the broker is local to me, but the actual insurance company is United States Liability Ins Co.
the whole reason I got declined by everyone for general liability is that fact that I am a designer,...
this whole insurance thing is a scam, I got dropped by the Hartford and denied by several other companies because of product liability, which I wasn't even trying to get product liability insurance,...
Thanks Ray, Good stuff to know
Ah, makes perfect sense now. I imagine adjusting the stand feet can only get it level so far and the stand in itself must be susceptible to it's own stresses and deformations. Any suggestions as to...
I have a question about tramming the table on the 1100. I just ordered mine yesterday and have been reading and watching videos about setting it up. and there's plenty of videos about tramming the...
here are some pics of the C41 and the lathe board also the diagram for the lathe board. I've read through the C41 probably 50-60 times, just makes no sense to me. I'm not using the G540 the link...
I will hopefully be insured on Monday through The Hartford, but that in itself is a whole other story. Apparently they are the cheapest but also have the worst customer service if dealing with them...
ok, I'm a complete dummy when it comes to electronics and have spent way too much time trying to figure this out. I'm no longer enjoying the build and just want to start running the lathe and...
