Hi, We have 8 mitsy EDM wire machines here. They've had all symptoms. Check the alarm page for which axis it points to! then you can simply find the cable. My bet is Y axis and the cable runs along...
The old fashioned way to cut a punch is to glue the part into the prep block whilst skimming off (what we call) the wire pip.
Hence the term 'glue stop' and 'slug stop'
In other words you'd...
Righto, I'm not familiar with peps (we use Esprit) In your G code all you require at the top of your NC is (amongst other things of course) the following:
%
L1/my-programme
H1=0.205
Z1=0...
Ok, for a standard 4ax program our Z values might be as follows
Z1=0 (workpiece bottom)
Z2=20.000 (Adaptive control measure height)
Z3=50.000 (Combination of guide height and actual Z height)...
How about this:
Make sure your 4 axis program has offset and a G41/2 on the first line of G01 code
Hi, You need to perform a Taper-Z as per the machine manual.
If you've done this let me know and I will try to elaborate
You might find your breakage limit is set to 1 set it higher to make it recover. with the skip function used too it will retry the amount you set it to if it breaks a final time it will rapid around...
Red wires 284 and 285 short across

I will have a look for you. Yes chillers are a little over complicated for the needs but they are nice and small.
If I remember correctly a C3 is freezing (try touching the elbow joint somewhere around the base of the chiller. (it should feel very cold)
and an E1 is "cannot keep temp difference at 5F or below...
Worth a go if DP Tech didn't change too much over the 10 years
Would a Esprit/W 3.1 be suitable?
Quite an old, but very capable machine. There were a number of DWC variants that led onto the CX, then FX, then FA with others here or there (ie: RA, BA)
As I recall these machines have the 16bit...
make sure you've got the larger holed nozzles fitted and remove the threading jet. Lower your WT a few notches and maybe the PT a little way. Lower the IP and SA raise the SB and VG. Finally check...
Are you saying that your machine is not moving in the Y axis but the screen is saying you are? or is everything moving but wont wire align due to the red/green light flashing?
Did it come with any software?
as the machine only has volatile memory there won't be any internal backup and the battery backup will most certainly be dead.
If they are like the CX machines...
There are 3 fundamental rules I use when training any Engineer.
1. Protection of yourself and others
2. Protection of the machining equipment
3. Protection of the customer's work
So a trained...
Thanks and you're welcome.
Simply, yes it does in both Positive and Negative senses too.
More indepth they also can work in polar coords too (ie XYZ and C rotation all moving) Imagine trying to machine a spiral hole!
utterly stunning machine. Proper fast too.
You will have to play about with the settings to get it singing! Including turning FUZZY on and off when required. Sometimes Fuzzy spends too long...
Hi, We too have an EA8 1999.
I am very versed with how to program using ESPER but to teach here on a forum would be quite a challenge.
Can you not afford to get someone in for an hours...
You'll have to excuse that I'm coming from CX machines though I think they are similar enough.
upon (what we call) machine bouncing: Make sure AUTO RETURN is on
press stop
press start - this...
Yep they all do this. Did you run out of wire that caused the wire break?
We get round this by manually moving away from the break point and machining in auto return mode.
The alarm points to either a broken wire on an axis stroke limit or if this is a CX machine or similar it could be a SIFA card problem

I'd be tempted to try them all to see if you get any differences.
However, sometimes zinc alloys can be refered to as spelter, so perhaps "SP" is the one to go for.....

From memory:
BS = Brass
BC = Brass Coated
however I only think in makes a difference to the AF cut circuit on our CXs.
Though not really tried any other settings on our 2010 FA20
we have cut this material before a couple times (usually without much incident)
You may need to tweak epacks to suit. IIRC: I adjusted
IP down a few notches
OFF up a few notches
SB up
SA...
How about placing a magchuck vertically in your machine and then just sticking them all side by side?
Could even place some on top of each other?
It would be useful to know what machine you have.
Epacks are just stored call outs that set your generator up for the task at hand.
I know on my Mitsubishis that I have to lower Ip a notch or 2...
