Did you try an old program that worked fine before? Is it now stuttering?
One of my first attempts. I did finally hear from the developer and have it now.
Got everything wired and connected and had first movement last night (sorry, no video). Had to revert to the SmoothStepper and Mach3 since UCCNC does support Lathes (yet?).

Been trying for 2 weeks now, no luck.
Tried posting on multiple forums and emailing, no luck yet...
I have been trying to get a copy and finding it impossible. Any help would be appreciated!
Anyone?
Why is this so difficult?
I have PM'd on several boards and emailed to Newfangled Solutions - no response. What is the best way to get ahold of Ease-e Turn?
X-axis done for now. Ballscrew is too short so I have ordered a 50 mm longer one, due in July 25. Also mounted a monitor to the table I bought for the setup, still need to bolt the lathe down.

Got everything working now, and had a chance to cut some steel today (actually cast iron). Cut smooth as butter at 500 rpm, no dips in speed, just constant cutting action. FINALLY! THIS is the...

Probably time to move on to Win11, Mach4, and an ethernet smoothstepper. Geekom has some great miniscule form factor computers, I bought one of these: ...

Got a photo of the finished part?
I successfully got Mach4 working, so I guess I don't care what the differences are any more....
Please refer to the 2 XML files attached, they are for MACH3 using a USS. Both are XML files renamed to TXT so I could upload them.
The one titled "Mikini USS Working 05APR23" is working fine.
...
Well, I had copied the XML over, but when I take a photo of the old machine it is different, so I guess the XML somehow didn't copy right. No 0 or 18 on the actual machine.
In my Mach3 setup, I use Port 1 pins 0 and 18. But these are not options in the ESS Setup for Mach4. How do I assign these pins?
Here is a screenshot of my Mach3 setup:

2 or 3-flute endmills.
Well, no luck. No matter what I do all I get is noise on the RPM readout in MACH3 (or 0). I have fed it many different known good square pulses, and it doesn't work. I extended the pulse 6000...
That's a good point.
I am not using a "breakout board" per se. The Mikini has something built in, but it doesn't interface to an encoder. I have the encoder wired to an Arduino, and am...
This is just for spindle speed, so the accuracy of the "position" doesn't matter (Mach3 can't do rigid tapping is my understanding). I'll try extending the pulse tonight. I didn't realize at 5000...
