  1. Re: Drilling 20X deep .027 dia. drill Polycarbonate

though spindle running through the slits of an er collet should supply sufficient coolant for that kind of depth
  2. Re: Gcode that spindle does not turn off at the end of the cycle

you can replace the m30 with m47 which will rewind the program but will want to repeat the program . Add an m0 at the top of the program to prevent it from repeating . The spindle will stay running...

Re: pcnc440's after near 3 yrs

new issue popped up today with pathpilot . I came to the shop to see a pile of errors on the one computer and it was in the os and not pathpilot . All the errors were dropbox not being able to...
  4. Re: Cheap vs Expensive ISO20 Tool Holder Clips

my guess is that the more expense parts are made with better quality materials . For the price of the cheap ones it's worth buying one each of the ones you posted to torture test . if they can handle...
  5. Re: X5 ---Full liecenced and purchased but my Hasp has broke and no replacement ?-

if you have had your hasp in and out of your computer a number of times then it is possible the contacts are worn or damaged , or simply dirty . I'd try cleaning the contacts with alcohol , otherwise...
  6. Re: X5 ---Full liecenced and purchased but my Hasp has broke and no replacement ?-

an upgrade to 2019 is more of a downgrade in my eyes
First thing that came to mind when I saw your post was they won't make it easy for you if your not on maintenance . X5 will be considered an...

    Re: Spindle Taper Regrind

it would have to be an extremely bad gouge to cause any problems . If the grinder says it's good then I'd take their word for it .
I've worked on a couple mills over the years that had a lot of...

Re: pcnc440's after near 3 yrs

it looks like the problem is resolved with the mill which is good because getting a new spare driver has proven to be troublesome in itself . To save a few bux I ordered from keling on ebay . The...
  12. Re: Is There A Market For Used Novakon Machines?

best low cost options are linuxcnc , pathpilot or ucnc , I'd lean towards the first 2

Chances are that the sale value that you'll gain by putting in the effort will be minimal if existent .
    I'm...

anyone that bought at that price has or can sell for more than originally paid , especially since the tormachs hold their value so well . I see them come up on the local market and I'm surprised by...

I wouldn't call them a standard . they are compared to because they are the lowest cost entry level industrial machines . In a lot of heavy fields they are refereed to as junk . Similarly tormach...

    Re: New mill from tormach.

totally understandable . I production run 440's and others in a small 1000 sqf shop with somewhat limited power . A separate line to the shop would have been ideal . Worst case if a mill is shot I...

haas does get a guy on the options but a base super mini with 10k rpm and rigid tapping is 47k and high speed is another $3500 . The 1500 is 43k assembled . I know it's comparing apples to oranges...

nice looking setup and through spindle coolant is a wise option to have added , except I'd have expected cat40 . I hope the do well with them but for the same price a guy can buy a super mini

Re: stepper motors get weak with age??

it's good that you've been able to narrow down the issue , the fact that a 1/8 bit can cause that sort of problem indicated a bigger problem . The 570oz motors have plenty of force with ballscrews...

a 1/8 cutter shouldn't cause those motors to lose steps , the cutter should snap long before that happens
