Hello All,
I picked up an old SL-1A Mori lathe, but there weren't any manuals with it. The control is a Fanuc 11T and I have been trying to figure out how to home the machine properly and set the...
Wilco. Thanks.
Hello,
tap, tap tap. Is this thing on?
It looks like I'm the only one involved in this thread, but I'm gonna take a shot here anyhow. I am still involved in this rewire job and I was hoping...
Me again,
I raised the bed, blocked it and pulled the servo. I guess the brake is integral in the motor as it is tough to turn even removed from the machine, while the ballscrew seems to move...
Hello Folks,
I am in the process of rewiring my old MH600E (1986ish) and could use a little help.
There is a switch on the relay board on the inside of the electrical cabinet door which is...
Okay, it's official, I'm stunned.
I just found out my Mach had the IJ mode in Config set to absolute instead of incremental.
Yikes.
Thanks for your time.

Here is the generated code from CamBam...

The Gcode is being created by CamBam. It will do arcs in either incremental or absolute, but when the absolute lines are mixed with the incremental arcs, the output is ugly!
I believe that CamBam...
I just had a scary thought as I was searching for solutions to questions I have regarding creating a Kmotion post for my Gcode generator...
Does Kmotion need the lines in relative mode too? If it...
Tom,
Do you have a Gcode spec that Kmotion uses that you can share? The CAD system I use to generate these programs claims their standard post processor conforms to "the RS274 NIST gcode...
It looks like I may need to write a new post processor for the CAD system. There doesn't seem to be an option to use radius as opposed to i & j. I'm not sure how I can integrate absolute lines with...
Very interesting!
Thanks Al. I will have to see if CamBam has that option.

Hi Tom,
I have never seen an R option for Gcode, but I will see if it's available. The program paths are all based upon the imported probed profile of the die, which is itself based in absolute.
...
Hello Tom,
There is an option for relative or incremental coordinates. There was a problem using that method, the nature of which escapes me at the moment, so the programs were done in absolute...
The computer will be dedicated to the machine, but it will also be used for other purposes when the machine is not active, such as producing Gcode from the CAD program.
My past experience has...

The geometry was built with a CAD system using object snaps to line and arc endpoints, so I would expect it to be accurate. Any CAD I have used is typically calculated at around 17 decimal places,...
John, I believe your question is a fair one, not silly at all.
More than twice over the past few years and as recently as two months ago I have tried the Linux system. Ubuntu was the most recent...
Hello Folks,
I am in the process of integrating Kmotion into a lathe style metal spinning machine I am building.
Until this week, I have been using Mach3 with a Smooth Stepper board and a C25...
I don't know if anyone is interested, but I have started a new thread to hopefully help my self and others that may be contemplating converting one of these old birds to run with a new control...
Hello Everyone,
I have decided, after much deliberation, to convert my busted-assed MH600E from the original Maho control to run under Mach3. I suspect that while this is easy to proclaim, in fact...
After spending many hours trying to muddle through the electrical cabinet, I have decided that proceeding in that direction without schematics is pointless. Someone has been into the main Maho...
At this point if I could even get the spindle spinning, I would be thrilled!
Life's been busy, but I hope to spend some time on this within the next few days. I'm going to reconnect the e-stop...
Thanks Uli,
Does that mean I could move the motors if I can supply the 10V to the controller?
Thank you very much Mike for taking the time to so completely explain what I am dealing with here. It is encouraging to know that the people here are so helpful. It's too bad the guy I bought it from...
Thanks Uli12us. I will send you a number.
Something else I was considering... has anyone tried connecting their 3TRM2 to an external controller such as Mach or Linux and simply using open ended...
I have an MH600E that I am trying to get going. Do you by chance still have that pdf manual?
Thanks,
Davey Boy.
You are right. The German ones do look much better. Too bad there isn't an "english" button so I could understand the details.
I have looked at the Ebay.de scales. My biggest concern is that they get damaged during their trip to Canada.
I can't believe that there isn't an aftermarket solution to this problem. Is it...
