I've used my 7 x12 band saw for cutting aluminum , used hard back carbon and bi metal blade.
Hope this will help . http://www.bobcadsupport.com/download/NewV23FAQ/FAQ3SettingSpeedsandFeeds.pdf
Yes, of course! It would be a lot more better. I hope some one will show up and help you out with detailed explanation . And had the same problem with yours.
Would turning speed and feed calculator help?
Do you still need a part for your Doall band saw ?
In a band saw, the recommended SFPM is 90 and the feed rate is 2-3 SIPM .
Thanks for your input . I'll take your advice! I was really thinking about bi metal. I already ordered Haltbar carbon
blades. If it won't work well , I'll get the bi metal blades.
I think I should try lower 300 SFPM . I have to cut mild steels. I ordered a pair of hard back carbon saw blades. Lets see how it will work.
I am planning to cut aluminum castings . Should I cut it with coolant or without? I found a Haltbar foundry carbide blade online. I am planning to work on it by this week.
I posted question in this site but in the different forum about metal cutting blade on wood band saw. Now, I'd like to know some one who owns 7x12 band saw that used foundry carbide band saw blade to...
I truly appreciate your attention to details and your professionalism!Obviously, it took a lot of patience and a great dedication to make something like that! Good job.

This is good to hear! I hope Fabitfast’s reading this because he suggested this site to you. I hope this gets to everyone so that they can experience what you had Terry. Good for you!
I have the same problem regarding replacement band saw parts. Good thing I’ve found this thread and this link. Thanks.
I agree with Matt’s suggestion. But as you’ve said, you don’t have room for a bigger pulley for now, you can give a try at 620fpm. That should be better than the 3000 fpm you’ve done before. That...
You can find really durable blades from this site: Band Saw Blades Online - Custom Welded Band Saw Blades. Trust me, those blades were tried and tested! I have no regret in using them.
