    Re: Epic CRP4848 Build Thread!

You need to measure your table on the diagonal to determine square, measuring across only determines if the frame sides are parallel.
The shortened racks are one of the infamous changes that have...

Yep, you have it all figured out. My hero! You must be associated with the company.

I'm finished with this thread...the machine is gone.

    Re: Considering selling our machine

I was told at least twice in emails and twice on the phone that this machine could be running in 12 - 16 hours. And never building a machine, I took Cory's word for it and reviewing their website...

    Re: Considering selling our machine

My post was vague because it was just to see if there was interest enough to actually list it for sale with all of the particulars. After all, there are only a couple of configurations available. The...

    Re: Considering selling our machine

Although I have received quite a few messages about this machine, I'm a little surprised at the lack of responses. This to me, is an indicator that I should have done much more research on this brand...

    Considering selling our machine

I thought I would check for any interest on our CRP4848 machine before listing it.
It's brand new and needs finished assembly. We just don't have time for this, we are looking at other brands.

    Re: Epic CRP4848 Build Thread!

I just assembled my extrusion early this week and it was less than 1/16" out of square. I don't see any way of getting it perfect without a lot of work with shims. The corner brackets pretty much...

    Re: problem after problem

After talking to Cory, he sent a new acme screw and bearing block. Hopefully this fixes the problem. Thanks Cory!

    Re: problem after problem

Well.... it appears that the bearing in the bearing block, doesn't even fit over the screw. I tried flipping the block over and it will not fit.

I'm starting to wish I would have spent the extra...

    problem after problem

Now, per instructions, I can not get the bearing block over the acme screw. It binds between the collar and the bearing block.

    Re: Shimming the Gantry?

nlancaster... I owe you a huge thank you!
I was skeptical, but I got it. I did like in the video and loosened everything and clamped the carriages against the front bumpers. I finger-tightened a...

    Re: Shimming the Gantry?

Thanks for the video. The only thing I didn't do, is clamping the risers to stay stationary. I did only shim the one riser, but it looks like in the video, he only shimmed the one half of the riser....

    Re: Shimming the Gantry?

There isn't any movement on the carriages. It has slots for the bolts, so it centers itself.
I shimmed the side of the gantry that hit the bumpers only, to the maximum that the bolt length allows,...

    Shimming the Gantry?

    I'm building the standard 4848.
In the tips and tricks on their website, it says to use shims between the riser and the gantry to shim for square.
I checked my base and table after assembling them...
  16. Re: Advice needed - removing duplicate lines in Rhino

Sorry, I don't have Rhino3D, but in Vectric, there is a select duplicate vectors option. Use that and delete. I'm sure you have something similar.

Re: A CRP Pro 4848 Build North of the 49th

That looks nice. I was thinking of using the extrusion for my table and I might use that design. Clean and simple.
How ridged is it? Is there any flex?
