    Re: VMC Mill Discussion

lol, we're talking about a power drawbar not a paint sprayer, the cfm requirement would be very low. depending on the size of compressor you got you might hear it run once at the start of the day....

    Re: VMC Mill Discussion

you forgot the skyfire too, lol.

3d cad is very easy for us to envision the final product, get with the times, designs can be completely tested in cad, gluing styrofoam together is a joke.

yeah that's why this process is usually the last one chosen when all else fails if tap extractors, picks and the welding rod methods fail and the part would be scrap anyway with the tap still in...

  27. Re: I just want to design for a HOBBY LATHE - 2D, 3D, 2.5D, ????? What CAD?

i've tried to help but you seem dead set against taking advice. i use bobcad/cam for drawing the part and generating the gcode mach 3 turn can use. fyi, if you call bobcad don't accept the face...
  28. Re: I just want to design for a HOBBY LATHE - 2D, 3D, 2.5D, ????? What CAD?

no you don't know what CAM is because you still think you can go straight from CAD to a gcode file that mach 3 can use. CAD won't output a file that will run on mach 3, there has to be cam program...
  29. Re: I just want to design for a HOBBY LATHE - 2D, 3D, 2.5D, ????? What CAD?

see that's your problem, there isn't lathe CAD, like i said any CAD can be used to draw the part or profile you want. CAM is the software that takes the drawing and creates the gcode and there are...
