Heli Freak is the name of the site. It is all one word.

Thank's Ray, i'm sure it is a VFD setting but I am not sure what setting to test first. The VFD will a compensate and get back up to speed quickly but the time delay in doing so can open the door...
Hi guys,
Yes I did replace the bearing and the part numbers are in this thread. I am sorry I don't have the bearing numbers on at hand right now.
That is my machine and the build thread is on here.
The plates are .090 aluminum and slotted to fit 10/32 screws with locking nuts.
I built my first mist system from a $8.00 air brush from harbor freight.
My second one was built following one of the threads on this sight.
Cut and drill another block but this time only slit one side instead of cutting it in half. Place the block in a vise, insert your part, tighten.
Hi Ray,
It only happens for a second or and only on certain cuts. Like if I am running a odd shaped pocket with a 40% radial engagement and part of the pocket goes to a narrow section that turns...
OK guys here are the drawings. I was reluctant to give them away but the community here helped me so much when I was getting started I thought it best to give a little back.
The drawing is a...
Maybe I need to tweak my VFD settings then? The only time I need the eztra power is during sudden changes in load on the cutter. on a 3/8" endmill I sometimes bog down until the VFD can catch up to...
Feel free to steal it but I get a % of the profits! LOL
Thank you Viper, I am using CamBam for cad and Autocad or Alibre design for Cad.
1) offsets? I will post the drawings.
2) Mack 3 works fin with servo's as far as I know. I am very happy...
Hi Pete,
You need to come up with something you can produce on your machine and start selling just to generate a little income. I was thinking about having you price out some of my frames... I am...
Thank you,
Titamiumboy- I have some cad drawings but they were never completed. I just drew up what I needed as I went along. Maybe I can clean them up a bit and post them here if I can find the...
So it doesn't really matter if the bottom of the tub is bowl shaped?
Then replace it for free when it arrives at the clients home with a scratch or dent.
+1
Maybe my problem is no one ever taught me how to machine metal and I just don't know any better.
I have built 2 machines with them and both have worked perfectly.
The first machine was a round column mill conversion and the second machine is a
square column machine. I have build threads on...
Glad you got it working after all the hard work you put into it. It's a shame you will have to move that monster but maybe you can get on that show "shipping wars" and get a deal!
Did you ever...
Any updates Pete?
Awesome work!
To date I have only made a tunnel portal for my model railroad in HO scale but what you have done is
fantastic!
If you need some idea's I tried to document everything used in my build thread.

I have ordered two sets for two separate builds and both times I supplied drawings of my required machining to the ends. Both sets were machined properly and to my exact specifications.
Went through all this over the last year or so...
After trying several brands I have settled on the Atrax carbide end mills from Enco.
Very affordable and less then HSS in most cases.
I have...
I purchased the Pro version of 2012 last month.
Great software but that name is just horrid!
I would go to a 2 flute. The 4 flute is going to have a hard time evacuating the chips without re-cutting them
and clogging.
.06 should be fine if you ramp down into the material.
Great minds think alike! LOL
I was convinced after reading many threads that I had to have 3 flute, high helix, carbide end mills to do
some real machining.
Pushing a 3/8" three flutes at...
Cool!!!! You should have chips flying soon!
I just put each project in a different folder. The folder includes the Cad file, Cam file or files, and the nc code files. I usually revisit the cam file and produce a fresh NC file as I need them...
Fiberglass.
I'm cutting some tomorrow for helicopter frames. I do it on my mill not a router.
