Hi all,
I have an issue with my 2007 Hurco VMX 30. I get a servo fault spindle alarm every time a spindle stop is commanded. It doesn't matter if it is a programmed stop or if I push the spindle...
This is what I came up with and it worked great:
Programmed T1111- Tool tip #6 w/ 0.001 radius---------actual tool radius is .0625
G96 S300 M03;
T1111 M08;
G00 X2.1 Z0.025;
G71 D0.025...
Disregard my last post. I see what the reason for X1.875 is now
Taking a second look at your code Brent, I don't believe I need to compensate in X i.e. X1.875. I believe my part od will be 1.875 instead of 2.000 like I need it to be.
I'm stuck on the idea that the Haas controller automatically compensates/off sets your tool. In the tool off set screen it gives you the option to enter your tool radius. I just always figured the...
Hi Everyone! Happy 4th!!
I am looking for a little bit of help programming a simple G02 half circle. I have attached a drawing. The arc closes to the spindle is perfect. The arc furthest from the...
Haastec was correct. It was the Z - axis limit switch. The switch had high resistance. Further inspection showed coolant had seeped down inside it. With as much coolant drained out of switch as...
Thank you for your quick response haastec. I will verify if the z axis limit switch is working electrically and post my results.
Machine was built in 2002. I have owned it since 2007. This machine gets lightly used, I probably use it 200 hrs/yr. Today I fired it up like normal and during the homing cycle I noticed the Z axis...
I had some spare time tonight to mess around with the old Taig. I bumped Kernal speeds down to 25k. I had 3 successful program exacutions with rapid speeds at 30in/min and cut speeds at about 14...
Rrrrrrrrr had a small hickup again. I checked backlash and its good. So this SmoothStepper?????? Taig has a controller box that contains a step and direction board, power supply and breakout board...
Success Gentalmen! I check marked Sherline mode and moved my step/Dir from 2/0 to 2/2 and WahLa! Im running at 30 in/min and Accel. @ 5 with no issues. Now my question is why where the factory...
I took Alan's advise and opened task manager to view my CPU usage during program exacution. Every time CPU usage hit 100% and G00 is being exacuted one axis locks up.
Even at 10 in/min I'm still experiancing motor lock ups. Alan I'm going to try your task manager trick.
No No No. I am not cutting using G00. I did not mean to give that impression.
Question for you Jeff and please forgive my ignorance. I looked at the SmoothStepper board and it peaked my intrest. Does that board completly replace the factory Taig controller box? How is it...
All good info guys, thanks. I didn't have a chance to try 10 in/min last night. To answer some questions raised.....I bought this mill about 10 years ago and it has a total run time on it of maybe 10...
So as luck would have it I was introduced to a guy here at work that owns a mobile machine shop and has years of experiance building his own CNC equipment. After talking to him, I believe he knows...
I recieved an email from Taig Tools that contained a file that had all my machines perameters. I loaded it into Mach 3, so those are the factory settings I have in there.
Factory settings are as...
Ok so I slowed down the velocity and acceleration and it ran fine until the last line of code. I tried slowing everything down even more but no luck. The best setting I can find is where the machine...
Ok thanks guys. Ill try tonight.

Oh and a little bit more info. When I jog continuously, even 2 axis at a time, I have no issues. Its only when a G00 is programmed.
I have a taig mill and it is run by Mach 3. My issue is when the mill rapids (G00) it locks up (no movement of the table). When it does that the machine loses its place. I was thinking if I could...
Ok I loaded the newest version of Mach 3 and everything seems to be fine. I get all 1700 lines of code now. Thanks for the help!
Ray
No I have a license for it. I thought maybe i didnt load it properly because I bought Mach 3 back in 2006 and have only used it a handful of times. According to the Mach 3 website the demo version...
I am using BOBCAD-CAM V23 which is loaded onto a computer running Windows Vista. I then transfer my program to another computer, via a memory stick, where I load it into MACH 3. (I have a small...
Line N40 should be X1.0096 not X1.096....forgot a zero! Thanks for everyone's help.
The alarm comes in at N40 if my memory serves me right. Also.....running the program in simulation mode, I noticed that the tool tip rapids through the part to X0 Z0 to complete the radius/final pass...
Thanks for the help guys! If I remember correctly the alarm message was "Z exceeds R value" but Ill get exactly what the alarm code says this weekend for you dcoupar.
