I've actually done this 3 times on two Haas mills. I always struggle because I forget one key thing.
When I go down to "ALL" I press write. Wrong! It'll say "Cant select"
Just arrow down to ALL...

No no, you misunderstood my response. I have no idea if G31 is in that sub program. I haven't looked. I was suggesting it might be there.
The G65 P9832 is calling up that routine, did you see if G31 is in that program?
mactec54 you threw me for a loop. I read what you first wrote and began feverishly looking for documentation. I thought I was missing some setting.
Then you edited.
Oh well. I learn til I die...
Someone may read this who needs information. Here is a sample of a part running as we type;
N22 (1 MM DIA. 4 FLUTE, CRB EM)
T22 M06
G00 G90 G58 X.028 Y.0985 S11000 M03
G43 Z1. H22 M08 T24...
From 1990 to 2002, I worked at a place where I didn't have CAM. Later I used AutoCAD to determine points and hand wrote all the programs. Furthermore, for the first 5 years of that I had to hand...
We make a lot of prototypes here and we put G53 Z0; M01; at the end of every tool so that, if needed, we can check the part before the next tool without having to manually move the tool away.
We have high speed machining. I’ve tried G187 P1 through P3 (its been a while so memory hazy). I ended up keeping it on the medium setting I think. Havent looked at it since the first experiments. I...
We also don't have subspindles on our lathes so sometimes the cut off can be tricky especially on small parts.
We will program the cut off to almost cut it off then turn off the coolant for the...
I'll have this problem at times. I believe it's a problem between climb and conventional cutting since the path is a zigzag.
I've minimized the problem by making the tool 2 flute and new. And if...
For the price difference, I'd think the cheaper bulbs are worth a try.
Hey! That's the story of my life!
No debate with me. I follow Ydna's advice too. When it's critical, probe then indicate. I find my Y axis is usually off a couple of 10ths. I do have a calibrated ring to set my probe and have...
Years ago I ran 1/4" NPT in 303 stainless. I used a tapered mill to get the correct taper before tapping. I also had a M00 to apply thick tapping fluid before each hole. I don't remember going...
Good question. I'm interested too. We don't have PDM yet but it's been discussed. I'll be watching this post.
If you right click on the first box showing the diameter, you can sort smallest to largest, etc... (edit: this is in the Technology Database not the tool crib)
Lol. Yeah, you're right. The VQC tab is way over to the right.
Can I ask why you're using WIP instead of VQC? Is there a benefit I'm missing out of by using VQC?
Please, no criticism here. Just curious. The last post seemed like a lot more work than I would...
Last one I promise: pocket in with open pocket
391104
391102
Just realized you were originally asking about Open Pocket. So I tried it too. Again I had to pick, delete, pick, repeat until it took the right one. It works.
391100
Yes. It works with Pocket Out as shown. One thing though. I found with my system (CAMWorks Solids 2012) that I will have to often pick off the part, delete that point, then pick the actual...
Have you tried making a sketch with your desired location? I usually make a circle sketch and then pick it for my location.
Update: we called in the HFO. They replaced all the way oil lines. Did a good job. They also replaced the wipers (unrelated to the leak obviously). We're up and running.
Makes sense. Thanks Bill
So one of our machines (2006 VF-2SS) is alarming "121 Low lube or low pressure". Plenty of oil. Also our drip container is filling fast with oil.
It seems like a slam dunk symptom of a broken way...
That's right. I programmed by hand for 12 years and would use it as a "canned cycle" all the time to reduce the code length. Using CAM now so I almost never see it unless I want to do something that...
A few thing weird to me. I'd dump the
"G28 G49 Z0.
G54X0 Y0"
Go with G53 Y0 Z0
Not sure why you were going back to G54...
As far as the locations, if they are equally spaced keep it in...
You're specifying an Absolute X dim in the G2 line. Are all the O-ring groves in line? If not, change it to incremental is my guess.
I have to apologize. I didn't update this. We lived with the problem for several years and finally last year (2016 I think) we bought a new pump from Haas. Fixed the problem.
Crap. I was only looking at the Z. I'm sorry. Our built in codes has :
G65 P9832 (TURN PROBE ON)
G65 P9810 X__ Y__Z__F50 (PROTECTED MOVE TO ABOVE PART)
G65 P9023 A9. S54. Z.025 (PROBE Z SURFACE...
