This is common issue with older Haas controls. Problem is file names on your hard drive, the control does not like long file names (longer than 8+3 characters) or letter else than 0-9 a-z A-Z.

So they are way covers then. They come like this when you get spare parts
Dont worry, stuff like this happens every now and then. I have done similar thing too and i know the feeling. Actually your boss should have insurance that covers accidents like this, at least thats...
First thing i would try is to turn off the machine and rotate ball screw by hand. If everything is mechanically ok it should turn freely. That would prove or rule out mechanical problems.
2006 Haas VF-8 needed new spindle motor after 5 years and X/Z ball screws after 7 years of production (milling and drilling aluminum parts, 3 shifts a day, 5 days a week). Spare parts were...
This is the way these holders sit in the haas spindle, nothing wrong here :)
I can confirm this issue. It has been happening every now and then with both of our (2010 and 2012) VF3-SS machines. Its kind of scary when you work in a hurry.
I have destroyed couple indicator...
2010 VF3 has grease for ways and screws and oil for spindle.
We had same problem in 2007 VF2-SS and it turned out to be x-axis thrust bearing going bad. It was still "tight" but it made sort of rumbling/whining noise while rapiding.
Im not sure if this is the correct way but i have exactly same 3d taster and i have worked with 88HS for years :)
For Z you need to input the lenght of your taster (just like any tool) multiplied...
Most likely your spindle motor driver has failed switching device(s) (most likely large IGBTs or darlington transistor modules)
It is possible to repair but you need to know something about...
OUCH! :(
If i were you i would double check all resolver and motor related wiring from axis cards to motor if there is partly broken wire. Happened with one of mine 15XT once.
I run two Fadal 15XTs at work and completely seized resolver is pretty common problem. Happens once or twice in few years.
Its good to have spare motor and resolver around always.
Gibbscam. There is option for tool change position but for some reason its not working
Hi!
Im running Haas VF2SS with TR160 5-axis trunnion. As you may know, there is not very much space for toolchanger to operate especially when trunnion is loaded with workpiece. I have to manually...
Hi!
I have huge problem with milling soft aluminum. Im not sure what alloy it is exactly but it is very soft and gummy. Guy who sold this material told that it is grade that is not supposed to be...

We had that cable replaced ½ year ago. I spoke with fadal service and they told to adjust loop gain / balance from amp card.

Hi!
We have 1997 VMC-15XT with 88HS. Earlier today X-axis motor overheated smoked and failed. We repladed motor with brand new one but there seems to be problem. When machine is powered there is...
