glad it is working.
I just turned the charge pump on mine off and unplugged the db25 and I only get a green light. I would double check the wiring on the ac side of the power supply and make sure that the jumper between...
Not sure. Have you tried it without the motors attached?
My g540 stays in fault mode until I turn on the computer and start mach3. I think you need the signal to the charge pump to get it out of fault mode.
You could turn the charge pump off and it...
You guys know that you can ignore specific users, right? If you're amused by certain individuals, more power to you.
That is seriously impressive.
Wow, this looks great. What do you make with it? Is this your own design?
My guess is that you don't have the motors wired correctly. Perhaps you reversed one of the coils. Tell us more about the upgrade you did and double check wiring diagrams of your motors and drivers.
I would post a link to the youtube video
I think that guy got a hell of a deal.
What about the temperature of the room?
Do you notice that these errors happen after a certain amount of time into a job, or is it completely random?
It troubles me that mach3 keeps going even though the motors stop. Hopefully someone more knowledgable could chime in.
2 things that come immediately to my not very experienced mind are static...
You're going to have to provide much more detail.
Machine type?
Type of cutting you're doing? (2.5 d? 3d? material? feeds and speeds? bits?)
What exactly are you noticing?
motor types? how many?...
I think it will be more than fine honestly. You're cutting wood with it, not metal. I think you'll be surprised how well it works.
Is this a side thing for you or your primary profession? Have a...
Looks great. What will you use for cam?
Nice work. Are you going to use the same size pulleys, or increase your gear ratio by using different ones? I'm curious what kind of backlash you'll have in the end. I suspect it will be pretty...
Oh wow. Please post some pictures of your pieces when you get there. They should be great.
what do you plan on making with it?
I think this represents a few of us here:

Gerry, those look fantastic. I think it is time for me to start thinking about a vertical clamping system.
Thanks for the reply. I see your username pop up on a lot of the sites and forums I have visited over the last few months, from 3d scanning to sculpture to cnc. It seems like we have similar...
I am new to the 3d scanning world and have done a bit of research. I want to scan people's heads, like many others seems to. I would like a higher resolution than what it seems like the kinect or...
Edit: Reinstalled the trial version and the toolpaths look improved. Will experiment more.
So my setup also uses a g540 with a 48v supply. I use 300oz-in motors and a hitachi router.
When I first set it up I used a 3/8" diameter 8 - 4 start screw. So it was 2 turns/inch. I also had...
A few questions:
How many tpi is the screw and what is the velocity when it stalls?
How powerful is the stepper motor on that axis?
2 feet of travel on the z axis sounds beastly. What do you...
I don't think my machine is quite as rigid as yours, but I'm going to give it a shot. I probably won't be as aggressive with it, because I need to use an extra long end mill. Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the response. What depth of cut do you use with that bit? I was thinking .25" or so.
Does anyone use half inch endmills on their hobby level machines? I finally have my machine smoothed out and dialed in. I have projects that will take me roughly 8-12 hours with a .25" endmill. I...
