Nice work! I have the manual mill. I am guessing by the features on your parts that you have a CNC setup. Looking good!

Not bad! Should work fine. I like the accordion style that is on mine right now but it is starting to unthread itself & come apart. I have been trying to figure out an alternative. Been thinking...
Congrats on the new mill! I am sure you are going to enjoy it!
:)
I would try to work with them. They have always been good to me when I needed them. I only have a manual mill but getting any parts that I need has left me feeling good about their company. I hated...
2000 ?!?!?!?!?!?
I don't even know if that's enough calls to get just the stand setup! (wedge) Gene is going to have a new phone message, "Welcome to IH CNC. If this is Bryan, please hang up. ...
WHOA!! Talk about a revamp! Man! Nice work fellas! Have your site bookmarked. Keep those great products coming!!
:)
I have to agree with what the last few fellows were saying about not letting shipping stop you. The IH mill is in a class of its own. The work envelope is AWESOME. The weight & capability of the mill...
Congrats on the new mill! Gene & crew are really outstanding on service. Great bunch to talk to on the phone as well. That smile on your face looks similar to the one I had when my mill showed up!...
Oh man!!! Ken was a great guy!! I really hate to hear that! I will be praying for his family.
I think that fellar is startin to foam at the mouth. Call the Doc quick!!!!:D
No! Wait!!! Call IH & tell `em he needs his meds...er..mill!!!! Pronto! :)
*Hears the Superman theme start to play in...
Brian,
I did the IH DRO kit on my mill. It comes with all of the brackets you need & decent instructions. As you said, the support is worth it. I really like mine. I`m sure you will too!
Oh stop it you guys!! I`m gettin all misty eyed over here with all of the friendly helpful IH people in this thread!!!:D
Congrats Evan on your purchase! I am happy for you & I am sure you will...
Jimmy,
Bought the IH mill that was manual. I don`t have CNC yet as I am learning metalworking in "basic" mode. CNC sounds like fun & I really could have used it when I started a project that...
They are the only place I know of that I can call at 2 AM in the morning with a problem & talk to a real voice that`s friendly & isn`t cussing me out! :D
Good customer support too.
I used the 4 large hex head bolts in the base of the mill with chains wrapped around them to raise my mill onto the stand. They worked well. I preferred to use them as opposed to wrapping anything...
Used to use Koolmist 77. Switched over to Blaser Swisslube, Blasocut 2000 Universal. The stuff cost me 120.00 bucks for a 5 gallon pail. Should last me forever. I use a third of it from what I was...
Thanks guys! Been needin` that!
:)
Qsimdo,
Good job on that motor. I sure would like to get a higher speed motor one of these days. Would be nice for aluminum!
Lexx,
I wouldn`t assume that it was right to begin with. Alot of the mills that are out there are off right out of the box. Now...if on the other hand maybe the column was removed or something &...
Hey Runner, Had any luck with the project? Hadn`t seen you post anything more on this thread. If you`re like me, probably been busy with the holidays & all.
I would think that 3/16 isn`t uncommon. I had to add a little bit less than that to shim the column on my mill to get it trammed to acceptable parameters for me. Might try the grinder on the base of...
I thought about making an attachment pulley of some sort to fit over the shaft coming out of the column. The handle would be discarded. Maybe then use a DC motor with a speed controller to regulate...
I would love to see you do that! Might give me an idea how to make mine! Been wanting to put one together for awhile but was stuck on creativity of exactly how to do it. Let the chips fly!!
:)
Could have never done this one with any accuracy without the DRO. That thing is really handy!
Getting to the point that I hate doing anything now without the mister on also. Glad I bought a gallon...
The IH is set up so that all you have to do is grab the crankhandle on the end of the table opposite the power feed & crank away. No problems & easy to do. :)
The longer I use that machine, the darker the wall is becoming! Hehehehe! Bought a mister that I am having fun with. Even using that, things get wet & dirty. I would hate to see what happens when...
Recently purchased an IH DRO with the power feed. Man! It is sooooo nice not to have to crank on that X axis untill I am breathless! The DRO was easy to set up & the few questions that I had about it...
Been awhile. Got answering machine. Still no call back. Just got left hangin.
I have sent them e-mails in the past also and gotten no replies. You might try calling them. Just a suggestion.
As far as what happens if I run an indicator from the head to the table, table reading as it were, I get less than 0.001" deviation from 1 end of the table to the other in the X. The Y is a little...
