Maybe I should buy one then ;)
Would certainly be an eye-catcher at the shop.
Not sure if the giraffe would assist in the cleaning of the mill though...

Oh my... ;)...
This is one of the topics that has been bothering me for some ages and I yet have to find a good solution:
Don't get me wrong - I like "Wolverine" as much as the next guy does... but for some...
Al,
I've tested it all so far...
Fastpecking works.
However Tapping is an issue - gets me the same "odd" N-thing error.

I use Fast pecking quite a lot - and ran into similar issues as with the standard drill and pecking.
I have not much used tapping so far for a multitude of reasons - one being that I have only a...
Al,
So far on two fronts: good news:
the suggested modifications to the post you've made have successfully solved the other two problems!
Rapid Z works now flawlessly and so does the...
basically the servos are indexed.
I'm no expert on how those things work...
but it has both - limit switches (overrun protection) and index.
from what I gather it uses the indexer for homing....
This is so weird....
I'll check the files again I have on storage...
About Work Offsets: yes & no.
Yes - the machine does support / have work offsets, but I rarely use them as most of the...
Al,
Assuming I'd set the wrong Zero on the MACHINE - then EVERYTHING should be at an offset - shouldn't it?
At least according to my logic.
Now this is the reality I'm talking about though:...
As mentioned before:
(from my last e-Mail):
The issue is two things:
Both issues have one common aspect: DRILLING.
Neither issue happens unless a drilling (pecking or fast peck) is implemented....
Rob
Thank you - but it makes no sense to me (System Tools)...
I do NOT create tools on the go... all the tools I use I do indeed select from the "Tool Crib"!
Î've noticed the "System Tool"...
Rob,
What do you mean by "System and Non System Tools"?
I'm using a completely custom tool library that features all the tooling I have and use this to populate the Tool Crib.
Aside from that...
jrmarch,
sure - no Problem:

Sent you the files by mail to your gmail.
I've attached the mentioned file to the same e-mail.
Well I ran into similar issues at different times - usually always...

Personally I think v27 has a lot to offer - what bugs me though in this regard is that I have no reassurance that for one the mentioned problems are none existent and for another paying...
Hi
I've been using BobCAD-CAM v25 for a good bit of time now (got the 4 Axis std / 3 Axis Pro)... and use this to create code for my old Fagor 8025M controller on my 4-Axis milling machine.

Hi,
My CNC Mill's Fagor 8025m controller is again acting up - today giving me a heart-attack by simply switching off during a set-up for some work.
After about an hour of rest and getting worked...
Jd,
No insult taken ;) but you must work in hell ... mixing metric and imperial stuff... that would give me some headache.
I'm happy in metric-world.
and about the project: whatever you do...
Well I'll report back with more solid info in the next few weeks.
Problem so far being that I was not able to source a fitting piece of rubber-gasket to seal of the table/work.
I guess I'll machine...
Just finished the test run of my new vacuum table & ejector pump
To those who're not familiar with an ejector pump: creates a vacuum by using compressed shop air pushed at high velocity through a...
SOLVED!
Guess what - I am VERY amazed at what happened...
;)
As I stood around with the baseball bat waiting for the troll to show up and have a wee "chat" I used the time to actually...
Hey guys,
I'm building a new vacuum table for my CNC at the moment and was running a fairly straightforward program... basically just some pocketing op.
I use WinDNC to drip feed the programs...
Well ;) depending on the day and type of work, I wouldn't mind ;)
yeah there's that ($$$$) to consider ;)
Honestly though that is one thing I don't get with bobCAM or a lot of other packages...
You enter all the numbers anyhow...
I mean, the software "knows"...

Zero_Divide,
Just bought HSMAdvisor yesterday and wanted to say thanks! amazing piece of software at a very reasonable price.
Pure time-saver!!
The automatic feature to paste the values into the...
Sure, my background is with conventional machining... back then mostly with HSS Tooling... And before I've gotten into CNC almost exactly one year ago, I rarely touched Carbide Tooling (but for some...
Whilst certainly it is true, it still remains within mathematical reach to calculate at least a close-to / basic value.
And given the fact that the CAM Software actually "knows" all the cut aspects,...
well that too ;)
Hi...
I've got a rather old (1963) conventional lathe at the shop... and am thinking about doing a retrofit to CNC.
The machine runs quite nicely and with a bit of TLC and time I can produce...
Ben,
thanks ...
well No, of course you're right - I spend more time, overall to set it up time after time again.
I work with half a dozen different tool steels, two types of Titanium, a bunch...
