Upon frying my 4 Axis controller I purchased a new breakout board and drivers. Problem is the new setup only has a single spindle output. I looking to add more for my Scribe, router contactor and...

Re: Linear Slide for Floating Head?

Thanks Jim. I've been looking at what others use but then I found the solution in my own shop.
I had bought a air slide for my scribe which had to short of a stroke. I pulled the seals out and it...

    Linear Slide for Floating Head?

EDIT: PLEASE move to CNC Plasma

After a few month of running I'm looking for places to improve my table.
1 thing I hate is the linear rail on my floating head. It wobbles and rocks.
    This is...

In search of a decent Knee Mill and getting tempted by a few CNC's that I missed out on I have come across a Forward Mill with Mitutoyo Millstar CNC (I assume) conversion.
    He acquired it at an...

Re: Help Me Improve My X-Axis

That was a last ditch attempt by me to spread the load and get more contact. The way he had them setup is that every bearing was almost riding on the radius of the tube and would roll on the edge....

Re: Help Me Improve My X-Axis

Standles, I like your idea. The extended rail trucks seam fairly economical. I just need to determine a better motor mount.
    Thanks.

    Help Me Improve My X-Axis

Long story short, I bought a table built for me, what I say in the shop I was happy with, what I got sucks. As far as I can tell it's a close copy to Precision Plasma DIY kit.

    I've dealt with a...

  10. Re: Generic 4 axis TB6560 Spindle/Output Relay Issues/Q's

Yup, slipped home one my lunchbreak and connected it as per the drawing, a few changes to active low and such and I can now toggle my relay on and off.

I finally got word from the people that sold the unit to my machine builder. Luckily I saw the shipping box and grabbed the name from memory and they had online chat support. It is what you...
  12. Re: Generic 4 axis TB6560 Spindle/Output Relay Issues/Q's

Well that didn't work. I place a diode between OC and one side of the coil and then to the 24v+ on my power supply and although I did not get the drop I got no switching.
  13. Re: Generic 4 axis TB6560 Spindle/Output Relay Issues/Q's

Now that you mention the NPN I'm thinking that is the case. I remember reading somehwere and seeing that.
I'll give that a shot. I'm so far unhappy with the supports I'm getting on the board. It's...

I just brought home my 4x8CNC Plasma machine that was built by a private builder local to me. So far I have outfitted it with a router and did a quick job (okay 6hrs...
