I can't remember how much I've spent building this machine. But even if I did I don't think it would help people.

I added a counter weight to the Z axis, and what a difference! 7m/min was no problem

I'm relying on the positive pressure in the spindle housing to keep the bearings clean. I used cheap AC bearings from VXB.
Back to the pictures.
Had a company make some...
It's for both cooling and oil, and I hope the air pressure willl keep chips away from the bearings.

I'm looking for a r8 spindle shaft and the X/SX3 shaft seems pretty good.
LittleMachineShop has it but is there any other place that has it to? The shaft itself is only $69.91 but freight...

To clear things up, its the upper end bearing seat that is to big. Not the "business" end ;)
I don't think you need 5 in both step and dir. Think I have lite 1 in step and 0 in dir, but Im not sure.

I started making a new spindle housing to make room for two ac...
I will mill some aluminum with small carbide cutters (<10mm) And I don´t want to be at the spindles max speed all day long. But maybe there is some margin to the 5100rpm
