No updates with my CNC router, but I have a picture of my house and shop I'm still building.
Hi James,
I have been away from the zone for a long time now. I have completed building my shop first and I started on the house this summer. I got the shell completely up in three months by...
Benny,
Turn the tail up on the Raptor. That is the only thing I can see that was not correct. But it does not look bad down as well :)
I use a touch screen with Mach 2 on my router. It does make it fast to do things. You still need to type in numbers once in a while.
So what kind of fish were we looking at? Blue Gill maybe. Oh and the longer fish with the vertical strips?
Say maybe next filming you can drop a fish line with a worm on the end in front of the...
Campbell makes a nice board. Also cnc4pc has a modular approach that I like.
Thanks for the information. I have been away from using my 4th axis for sometime now, but when I get back into it I will look at your formula and try some tests.
No edge is visable on the finished carving IF you spend the time to get the graphic lined up. I placed a grid pattern over the graphics to help me get close. I then did some trial and error work to...
Hey Tauscnc,
Let me know if you want to try a 3D carving. I have done some and still have the G-code :)
Paul,
I remember you posting one little promotion for the Zone on that Yahoo group. I had been there for sometime and hated yahoo's ad's popping up all over the text I was trying to read. Once I...
Nice Joe! It won't be long and you will be cutting thoes Haas PJ sides :D (inside joke)
Tauscnc,
You are lucky that the error was on the more material side :)
I have used the rolled type ball screws on all my CNC equipment. About the ball screw, I have received some that looked clean on the outside and I have seen some that looked like they had some kind...
I have the full set of boards from CNC4PC. I have not had the chance to build another controller with them (yet). I've been too busy getting started on my house/shop building. The breakout board...
Joe, I finaly found your router post! Nice work! Now you can cut a Haas projector box if you want :D
I would not go any higher than 500 with the G320. I use 250 count encoders and can get close to 200 IPM on my mill/drill.
That is long. Did you use shielded cable for the encoders? Cat5e network wire works great.
Just as a final note on this. I'm fairly computer savy. I checked all of the software they are advertising, and the versions. Everything they have is exactly the same thing as you can download...
Yes, the code was output to use fixture offsets and tool length offsets.
No, I think you are going to be able to download the software from this site! I just don't know how they are getting away with selling and distributing CRACKED software!
Read this from their...
Benny,
About the plastic edges. I used to watch the model shop machinest on my first job out of college work with cutting plastic on a mill. The end edges of the plastic did not look clear and...
Not much speed at 5:1 ratio :)
Looks very familar to me :)
The tool crib at Amazon.com also has it for $285.00.
The machine is documented very well in the book. I don't know if the parts are still available from the sources listed in the book now. They were available a few years ago when I ordered the parts....
Happytriger2000
The breakout board I used in that pic was from Dean @ Axxus Technologies. He has now told me that he does not want to make the board anymore. I'm looking at the board from...
Mariss, At the high RPM of your bench test of 6000. Does the stepper loose all strength? I would think that at that speed you could stop it with your fingers, if it did'nt burn you first :)
JRoque,
Have you produced any code with the it? You got both programs for $1000? That does sound like a great deal! Is this deal offered anywhere?
Has anyone seen this plug-in for Rhino 3.0? Here is the website http://www.rhinocam.com
It sells for $999 I don't know how that compares to other CAM software prices in the same caliber as it....
Some more info about setup for the router mounts.
The G-code is built to use a 3/8” end mill. The 0,0,0 is the lower left corner and at the top of the ½” material. I would use two bolts in the...
