sent you an email.
Mods please let me know if this is against the forum rules, but this seems like my target audience.
I'm selling a nearly new Kflop and Kanalog board. I had them mounting in an enclosure and under...
FYI, if anyone else needs a set of the "CNC ready" leadscrews with the motor mounts, I have a set collecting dust that I'd love to see go to a new home and get used. I'm not on this forum super...
what isues did you have?
I spent a LOT of time getting everything dialed in square/flat and getting steps/angle correct before I made a single chip. It still has some quirks. I need to reinforce...
Pretty loaded question. haha, It's a lot of work and it could cost a pretty penny depending on the rails you get. I certinaly wouldn't trust the Hiwin knock off rails on ebay and amazon to do the...
Been a long time since I made any updates to this thread, but I recently finished the latest addition. A 5 axis trunnion table...

There are 2 harmonic drives that...
Hi all, I'm setting up a 5 axis trunion table on my mill, and having some issues with the soft limits on the A axis which only has 90* of motion available. While the soft limits seem to be working,...
sorry, I never got a notification that someone had responded to this thread. Thanks, i really enjoy doing converstions like this.
I lost quite a bit of turning diameter capacity. I can turn pretty...
try this, but of course, use at your own risk.

i'm not sure i follow your instructions. Are you saying to set the steps per unit * velocity (in mach3) so that it is equal to the spindle step max frequency (in smoothstepper config)?
The C6 board does use relays for direction control. I'm not seeing anywhere in the manual, or from my google-fu that the C6 boad will do -5v to 5v control, or 0-5v control.
Hi Mactec, thanks for your responce. No there is no configuration on the board itself, at least none that I can physically see or that are referenced in the manual. The power is connected correctly...
well I only get a 5V "swing". So if I have the adjustment pot set to it's min, the max output i'll get is 5V. If i adjust the pot up, I can get the full 10V output, but it'll never go below 5V.
I...
well i'm not sure if this is a mach3 issue or an ethernet smoothstepper issue. I have a step/dir C6 spindle control board and it kind of works. I've set up the board per the instructions here and i'm...
I'll give you a +1 for the taig. It was my first mill and quite capable for the size. It was VERY capable after epoxy bedding the columns and upgrading the spindle motor!
Just FYI,
I have a full set of screws and nuts left over from my ballscrew conversion if anyone wants/needs them.
That should work fine so long as you can measure up to the supply voltage going into the switch. There are lots of tutorials on how to read a potentiometer that will do the process far more justice...
If you have a volt meter you can check if the foot pedal is a potentiometer itself (i bet it is). If it is, you can easily swap it out with a rotary style potentiometer.
Anyone ever use Camworks wire EDM? I'm looking to switch from esprit and I'm wondering how the power settings are handled.
looking good!
I have a fairly well sorted camworks post for mach3 if anyone still needs it.
Moving right along. I have the X and Y axis done as well. The saddle had to be machined out on both sides to fit the ballnuts and ball screws. Extensive modifications to the ballnuts were required as...
first and foremost I love my Taig mill. I've had it for around 15 years now and it's the machine I learned CNC on. It's been thru many an upgrade to this point. It started with one of those terrible...
How's that spindle working for you? I've been thinking about getting one for a project of mine as well.
Nice build, it's a pretty substantial machine right there!
So I hinted at taking on this project a long time ago, and decided it was finally time to make good use of the linear encoders that I installed. I ended up getting a kflop and kanalog board and a new...
worked like a champ. Thanks again.
Ok, that little light bulb just went off in my head. All 3 drives are the DM556 stepper drivers, which are TTL compatible. I have them wired so that the step and direction signals (required to be 5V...
So I'm back already with a few more questions. I ended up replacing the gecko drives with more of the opto isolated drivers and ran cables right to JP4 and JP6. Channels 0 (connected to JP4, pins 13...
Thanks Tom, I'm sure I'll be back with more questions at some point but this will get me headed in the right direction.
