Does anybody have a guess how much the turret option might be? Few thousand?
Can't imagine Tormach going too high because then other options for a machine start to pop up.
I like the footprint...
I use interpolation with an M.A. Ford countersink.
Helical is with in the "lines and arc" block if I'm not mistaken.
Thread milling is essentially, line and arc block, a lead on arc, helical (make sure you use increments of 360 for each rotation,...
Have them save it as an .iges file.
BobCAM can open .iges files which are solid model files.

Thanks for the advise guys.
I tried extracting to a new layer and it works great! Things have just gotten easier.

I have 3D milling on my Ultimax 3. Not a feature I use, though I have used it once and was thankful to have it. $800 would be better spent towards a CAM package IMO.
The problem with it from my...
When using V25 3D mill,as far as I can tell, you need to free hand or use a sketch shape to create a boundary to contain a tool path on a solid model.
Is there a way to select a boundary of off...
I'm in the same boat. The head on my Hawk 40 needs to be gone through.
I have all the documentation for it, unfortunately, they only cite "Bearing" and Hurcos part number.
Ultimately, I'll need...
If your Windows installation disk has the option of installing 64bit, do that and put more memory in. Memory is cheap.

Here is a thread that details some options you might be able to use. Included in that thread is an option I did.
If your hard drive will work intermittently, like mine, it failed to boot up but...
I have a Hurco hawk 40. I bought new made for my machine oil manifolds from Hurco. They were more or less about $80 each.
Hurco will need the serial number of your machine to build the correct...
Try calling Hurco service. I've called them in the past and they are helpful.

Being able to run basic g-code is included, guaranteed. Any CAM system will work. Their are different, higher, options of g-code that cost money. Don't worry about those.
Their is a warm-up cycle...
If you take some time and learn the Hurco, you will laugh at the Tormach.
The Hurco is a conversational controller, but it also can run g-code much like the Tormach probably does, i.e. using a CAM...
If it never worked in your facility, could it be a power issue?

The LCD screen Bloke. It was cold in the garage 40F. The screen was blank, not sure if the video card runs both screens.
Thanks for the tip on switching to one screen if needed.

Today I fired up my Hurco Hawk with dual screen. The left side, touch screen didn't light up, right side did. I though, oh ****. I need to finish these parts today. I rebooted and it lit up fine and...
Is this a Hurco courtesy service? If not, what is the cost?
Tom
It might have a 3.5" floppy drive, or does it?

Indicol Holder and an indicator.

Well, I figured out the OD thread milling.
At some point I'm going to post what I did for both ID and OD thread milling to hopefully help others that don't do it too often, like me.
And what's...
I'm running a job where I need to thread mill an ID 3/8-32 thread and a OD 3/8-32 thread on different parts.
I've accomplished milling the ID thread with success.
I'm having trouble programming...
I just did an external thread, this is where BobCad could do a better job with information.
On the thread depth when doing an external thread, use a negative number for the thread depth.

I verified that the Y-axis ball screw is getting oiled too. Build up on the screw after performing a warm-up cycle. So the ways and ball screw are being oiled. Good to know and a relief as well.
I...
Sorry for the late reply. I ran the warm up with the cover off, the wipers off as well. The Y axis did puddle oil at the end of the stroke so I would take that as oil is getting there. I assume the...
I'm not sure on the drives other than they are made by Baldor.
I'm going to pull the manifolds and see if oil pumps out of each metering valve, then blow out the oil line with compressed air, then...
I have a 1998 Hawk 40 that is incurring a higher load on the Y axis. I've had the machine one year and when I first got it, the load was not an issue, but over time, it has increased.
I do not run...
Make sure the retract clearance in the program is less than what the machine will retract to. If it's more, it will error. At least this is how it was on a Trak mill I use to run.
Just ran the update. No problem. 5 Mins.
