Kieth,Scott, Well i just tapped some 1/4 -20 in some maple @ 750 .750 deep. so i bumped it up to 1500 rpm and when the tool reached the clearance point the spindle slowed down and it tapped the hole....
so just checking my manual says recommended starting point is a 100 rpm. so thats why it was set their. Of course i never tapped that slow usually about 750. other params changed.

I havent "chosen" anything at this point this mill has 4 different computer in it in the last 2 weeks.I think some how somethings may have changed? I setup this up under the guidance of Drew back in...
Kieth, the head still has hi and low but i never use low if i remember it had to stay for functionality of the spindle so i set it up to work but don't use it. with inverter is not necessary....

Im getting back to my lathe conversion which has sidelined for a long time. i have a cnc10 setup for it it a 19" leblonde tape turn. wondering if i should run a vfd or not and what specs are required...

Thanks, i was looking through my stuff and i cant find a cd with 2.36 on it so not sure which way to turn at this point. looked on the ajax site and i dont find it there either. just the latest stuff...
converted this mill in 2003. had only a couple problems with it over that time have made a lot of stuff. current problem is with the pc. linux 2.36 ssd it takes 5 minutes to load the program list....
Hi all was here several years ago. haven't been on in a long time. want to get back doing a conversion or 2. previously did a Milltronics knee mill with an ajax control.
