Thanks @chemphd
I actually have both the P and the S ServoPacks; I quickly figured that the S series has two bit binary function for pre-set speeds so I can get it to go easily using 3 different...
Hi everyone,
Need advice on motion controller for Yaskawa Sigma (Sigma 1 so to speak) ServoPack -- those are the very first series of what became the flagship product line of Sigma gear....
Thanks mactec54! I'm at a point where only experience will help (of which I have none) since the thing "kind of" works but I suspect something is wrong. Here I'll share few observations and you gurus...
Hi guys,
So everything is working great. There is one thing that bugs me: when the servo is ON there is funny noise coming out of the motor. That happens when it is NOT rotating at all. Just the...
So I have a follow up question about the Yaskawa world in general. Now that I have the gear and I get a first hand opportunity to explore how this business works by looking at the actual options...

mactec54 you are awesome! I do plan to program the servo drive using SigmaWin+ software which I already downloaded from Yaskawa's web site and the RS232 cable is very simple (I actually already have...
guys thanks so much for the feedback; after checking compatibility (encoder and motor amps) I found that it will work with SGDA-02BP (the B being a 110v input and the P being for position control)....
Thanks Mike, it is a standard sequential encoder with a standard Yaskawa connector for their Servopack drives (the ones that I can only find in 200v versions)
Hi everyone,
I'm new to AC servos; I need advise on a drive for Yaskawa SGM-02B312. I came across an assembly which is perfect for an awning project I contemplate. The only problem is that the...
