Miller Precision Manuf. & Integration in Portsmouth Virginia is seeking a FC programmer with 3 & 4 axis ability on Fadals 88HS contols. If interested please email Steve Dortch at...
You are going to have to give a drawing or something plus what version of featurecam you are using. 4 axis is really good once you get a handle on what it wants, so try to get some more info here.
i use to manually program and one day my Bridgeport route guy came in and handed me a stack of floppys and said try this. That was pack in 91, before it was called FeatureCam, and i have been with it...
First off make sure your controller takes "macros" as FC calls subs, next get your manual for the machine and see what codes it takes and then you have to get your post setup to output the code the...
You ask why? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$- that's why.
Try making a new setup and position it at whatever degrees you want just like a 4th axis setup would do on a verticle. If you have the tombstone option it should be easy.
My first thought would to be rough out with 2 setups 180* apart using z level and then work with your fourth axis continuous but my computer couldn't handle that feature.
I don't do lathe stuff much, but click on the 3/4 view under simulation options and see if that works.
Try using "region of interest" from the help files.
Thanks for the offer, but I finally got our service guy to walk me thru a diagnostic and it's working- for now!! I'll keep your address though!
Anyone know how to clear a#9 spindle fault code from a 6030 with a 88HS contoller. It comes on at startup when trying to start the spindle. Thanks in advance for any help!!
Try changing your "ramp angle" on the milling tab to zero.
Have you tried the toolsheet addin from the web site under support/addins?
Create your text as you want it to appear on the surface. It doesn’t matter where in Z – the letters get projected onto the surface. Because of this, the letters are a little distorted if you look...
i forgot- use your text as the boundry!!
create your engraving at or above z 0, selct the surface you want to engrave on and create a 2D spiral tool path with a wall pass check box. that should get you going- let me know.
rather than creating a new surface that way, i go to surface wizard- one surface- untrim surface and "fill in" holes and pocket- then set the z-end if necessary. it's hard without "seeing" the file-...
this could get involved. what surface milling feature are you using? on the edges tab, do you have "don't roll over edges checked? on stock tab are you checking use "part surface dimension"? fill in...
first, make sure they are not checked in the part surfaces
it would be to long and involved to explain so i just programmed it and you can look it over and pick it apart. if you have a lathe, i would do the main part that way or do it 3 axis standing up and...
Haven't been here for a while, are you still "toying" with this?
i don't know if this is what you want but, go to the FeatureCam web site, click on support, tech tips and look for "cutting large chamfers" it's a way to use a smaller tool to do a larger chamfer...
have you tried setting a plunge point or "check surfaces" to not cut?
Real quick, look into boudary curves--- i'll look in later, gota go!!
Let's see if I get this right. Go to your stock page and click on indexing tab. Leave if on no multi-axis positioning and check generate a single program and all your setups will be run at one time...
Personal preferences mainly. Some people like being able to follow the program and "spot" obvious errors in position- with part line. Others like using part line especially using regrinds and putting...
Neal, thanks for that. I only program (CAM) and the "operators" didn't know!! So, if I make a segmented spline curve it should work??
Has anyone had a problem getting a large arc ,653", to run properly? All I get is a samll 1/2" arc then a straight line pass to the other end of the 30" long cut and then the same small arc on the...
I don't know if the attachment will come thru, but the NCFadal is free and I hope it's here
