I should have said stall...you can scratch that question though...a little playing around fixed the problem. I've got everything working pretty well but I do wish I could move the Z axis faster....
Hey, this is more of a Mach3 question then a stepper question, but oh well. When I'm jogging my stepper motors tend to bog down. I read the Mach3 guide a while back, but the motor tuning left me...
Thanks for all the help y'all! Now shes moving in the correct direction.

Hey, I'm in the process of converting my X3 to CNC. I'm pretty much done...just need to work out all the kinks. One of those kinks is the stepper motors on the X and Y axis turn the wrong way (I...
Speaking of running slow, when I'm jogging the motor seems to be running incredibly slow. Is there a setting in Mach3 I need to change? My jog rate is set at 100%...
Hopefully I'll be ordering my...
For the X and Y axis I'm using NEMA 23 425 oz-in steppers from Kelling. I'm using a NEMA 34 640 oz-in stepper for the Z axis. The driver is a KL-6050 from kelling.

I bought a kit from keling inc to convert a X3 mill to cnc. I wired everything up according to their wiring diagram to bench test the motors(I don't have motor mounts for my mill yet). But when I...
Hey, I'm thinking about converting a 9x20 lathe to cnc and was wondering how I should go about choosing servo motors to power it. Thanks in advance

Those are much better then the combo machine. One tip, the mill is the same as any other x2. You sould shop around for the best price. If you have a 15 or 20% off coupon for harbor freight you would...

Hey all. I'm surprised this thread is still going. I finely decided to get DesignCAD. Right now I'm trying to learn how to use it...once I figure it out, I'll get the CAM program that goes with it. ...
Looks nice! How long did it take?

"i will have a kit available at the end of march or beginning of april."
Would you be willing to draw up a set of plans?
I don't particularly like some of the design choices in this conversion...
Are there plans to do it? I know people have done it, but I'm not interested in designing my own conversion.
Also, who carries them? HF, Grizzly, Jet, and...
Thanks.

Yeah, I emailed him and he said they most likely wouldn't work. I have the opportunity to buy a used one and would like to get it. Does anybody know of plans to convert the 8X to CNC? If not, any...
Wow handlewanker, I've already said this is a hypothetical question.

I do enjoy this....why do you think I get up early to come to this...
What do you mean by "post 2333"? How would you find it?
Gray
Thanks CNCadmin, you answered my question. It's not my posts that were getting pulled, people at the other site were talking about it. I just started the poll to see what ya'll thought about it.
I...
What do you mean by "join"? Nobody is trying to combine the two sites or make them "sister" sites. I just think we should beable to exchange links freely without our posts being pulled.

:) You have a point.
There are four votes "to keep the heck away from each other".....I'm interested in hearing from those that voted for that option....I would like to hear the reason for your...
Apparently people have "issues" with posting links from this forum to others(namely CAD/CAM Trainer). This poll was posted over there and I thought I would post it here and see what ya'll had to say....
Today I got a X2 from HF. I'm looking forward to CNCing her someday.
Here's a few pictures.

I still haven't figured out the X1, 2, and 3 designations, but I plan on getting a mini mill from harbor freight and converting it to CNC.
