Oops.....didn't see you "spoke too soon" comment before I sent mine.
I think you have it down to the BOB.....at least I'm pretty sure that's what you were redoing all the connections on. Since...

That's awesome that it's up and running. Sounds like it was a poor connection. Have fun and let us see some of the stuff you end up making. :) -Mike
Sorry for the delay.....I don't seem to get notifications for new comments, just the original. I have to come back and look for them.
That's great that it's been narrowed down a bit. I don't...
That's certainly weird. I agree with Jmhx2. To me, that's not the spindle bogging down from lack of torque......it's speed is being changed....but why/how. It could be a mismatch between what mach...
Sorry I can't help with the tuning, but the only singing I've ever gotten from the servos on my Torus Pro has been from the Z axis. My strut is toast so the load can cause the servo to sing...
I have a new gas strut sitting on top of the machine....just waiting. The link only comes up to a catalog page, not a specific strut.
I think I was one of the first to convert from the battery to...
Nice....sounds like the same setup I have....pro w/servos and power drawbar. More spindle HP is my biggest "want" with this machine.
I can't tell what your load meter is reading on the PDB...
It doesn't look too bad. The rust on the tooling will clean up easy enough with scotchbrite. I'd assume the TTS R8 collet is in the spindle. As long as the ball screws and ways/gibs on the X/Y...
The last time I talked to John(owner), he said he's not going to bring in anymore machines, but he's going to try to continue to supply parts for them.
Hmmm....that is a bit curious. I had to buy a mach3 license for $70? at the time, but I think the free version came on it. He may have been using the jog function with the keyboard to move it...
You're more than welcome. At that price, you should make your money back pretty quickly. I'm IG under the same name. On YT, put novakon in the search bar and you'll find a lot of vids with it. ...
It's a Novakon Torus Pro. You can find more info at novakon.net
In my opinion, if it's running well like the ad says, it's worth the money. It's got 3x's the work envelope of the Tormach 1100. ...
Hi Bill. This is the power supply that Ray had me order to replace the battery for the power draw bar. I have no clue about anything related to the tool changer.

Hopefully it shows up....
It's been down at least since Sunday.
edit....
....doh.....next email was John saying it's down for changes....should be back soon.
It's still there. If I had the room, I'd seriously consider it. It's worth that just in spare parts!
Thanks for pointing me back there.
I'll probably just add it to my thread when I do it......but a separate thread might be a lot easier for others to find. I really like what I'm hearing about...
LOL.....dang my memory. I found your post about it and most of it was you answering questions I asked. I think I'm going to start buying the parts. I'm in the middle of a big project at the moment,...
Are you going to post more about the Acorn upgrade?
I put most of my info in videos.
I'm pretty sure the sources and numbers are in this vid.

I don't think I have the cut specs listed, but I typically run it at...
I noticed in #214 above that the same vid was linked twice. I guess the forum has a time limit on when you can edit. Not that anyone is watching, but here's the link to the one piece UCA made from...
kvom.....good to know. Thanks! It's the only thread mill I had and that was the first time using it. I'll probably have to go through the entire testing process again when I have to do it again....

Bit of mill turning. I now have a Tormach 15L Slant Pro to do this work on. :)

LOL!!! My last post said I shouldn't wait 10 months to post on here........and now it's been over 3 years. :(
I'll see if I can post a few vids here of stuff dealing with my mill.
How I...
I still miss my SolidEdge ST4 :( LOL
upnorth.....thanks for the pic. I thought this thread would send me updates, but I guess not.
I'll have to look at my cabinet and see what will be involved, physically, with installing the new...
Yep...that's me. lol
I have the servo version.
I've turned the mill on 3 days in a row and two of those days mach3 didn't want to play and I had to power cycle the machine again before I could run...
I'm seriously considering the Acorn for my Torus Pro.......although I'm really liking PP on my Tormach 15L Slant Pro. Any more info on what it took to put the Acorn in? I really like the probing...
I had problems with mine leaking, too. This is what I did. If it's still leaking, it's only a drop now and then, but I don't use the mill everyday. I have an automatic one to install, just haven't...
I haven't talked to John since last July, but this is what he sent at that time. Maybe someone has heard something more recently. I think I shared this when I got it, but maybe not....and if I did,...
I had something similar happen......I didn't check for any length difference, but the manual bar's head was square instead of hex. Since it's the hex that is needed for the PDB, the other is just...
