Where did you get the pulley you used for the X axis to replace the plastic gear?
Having a hell of a time finding anything that looks like that besides "gear stock"
Thanks,
Andrew
Any info you can dig up would help!

Do you have a link to wiring schematics for the DM 3000? I'm thinking of using a MASSO controller on it. not sure if I will replace the motors\drivers...
There is a DM 3000 for auction near me but it looks like the control panel is missing.
Does anyone know if the machine can be moved under power without the controller or if there will need to be...
I have a ESS and use backlash comp in mach3. I'm not going to tell you it makes perfect round pockets, but I have no issue hold .001" to .002" on rectangle pockets.
Also you could look into the...

I'd also look at the bottom of the table to see if the nut is hitting the casting of the table.
A few of us have had this be the issue for end of X axis travel binding.
Andrew
I mounted mine to the Z saddle. So I can tilt the head if needed but I see there would be an issue with the cables\hoses not having the length to move.

@CFLBob
you could machine away some of the table

This is what I did but I went thru the ballnut mount. I didn't feel there was enough "meat" to tap the new hole in the ballnut. Also but a set screw in the side ov the hole to keep the oil from...

info on where you purchased the cylinder from. I never really have luck looking for the multi stage cylinders given each manufacture calls them something different.
Thanks,

The thread size is m6x1 for the ball nut lube fittings. At the time I could not find any quick connect fittings with that thread and made some oddball adapters. post #159 shows the two for the X and...

Not really. There are flats on the side of that end, so I just milled a hole to match the shape and used the locking nut that was supplied.
That also let me keep it in the orientation I wanted...

I was asked If I would share the CAD for the stepper back covers I made so I figured I would just put them in the Build log for all to grab.
Credit is due to hoss2006 for the original files. I...
MSM does have settings for "two pass" probing. I believe mine is set for 25 IPM the first pass, then it backs off .100" and and does the second at 4 IPM. Since I only have the tool length offseter,...
If I understand the MSM screen set right....... you can have a touch probe ( for picking up part or fixture ) , mounted touch plate ( tool length sensor ) and a mobile touch plate all setup to on one...
Looking at your pictures, I'd say that almost all of the back lash is coming from the failed connection between the ball nut and the ball nut mount.
To me it looks like that kit uses a flange less...
Just spent the morning working on getting my machine using the wireless tool length off-setter

Thanks for getting more info on MSM. I might give it a try this weekend.

I guess the only real negative is it's different than what I normally do at work when I get to play with the CNC's. Mainly the HAAS TL2 lathe. I set all my tools in the Z off the face of the chuck...
@ Kenny Duval
It sounds like you have and use this screen set.
Here's what I'm looking for with tool offsets.
I want to set all my tool lengths off the table while in G59 with no Z offset...
