Did some wiring today, servo power should be ready now, with a new front panel and a power switch:

And the VFD is working too, doesn't sound that nice though... :o
My RF45 clone (HBM...
Sure. :)
That handle is a little too beefy, but well, it doesn't weight that much..

Still need to replace that wrench with...
Wow, April 1 passed by again, no fooling around this time.. :D
Motor is almost mounted.. Little issues with some dimensions, but hopefully it's ok now.

Bearings and pulley installed, seems to be ok.. Bearings repacked with Klüber.
Other side, still "needs" a snap ring:

Bearing holder in place and turned a handle for belt tensioning.

Well, that should be quite ready now, "only" needs that spline bushing, if it fits.. :D

Some update, none is fully ready though. Again a little more work than I assumed, but it's getting there. Clearance / interface fits are a bit PITA without proper measuring tools.. :)

Thanks, though my friend turned those almost entirely, I did some roughing.. :)
That is Gates Polyflex JB, only one that I found which can handle high speeds and 3HP with my height restriction...
Some progress with belt drive. Still needs at least some kind of axle, bearing "holders" and motor stands..

Those are Rifa PEH200 250VDC, shouldn't be too vintage. No idea where that ebay link came from, it says "Link added by VigLink". Nice feature. :tired:
Drivers can handle up to 50% ripple, but...
Power supply almost done and bolted to wall. Still need to add power switches, not sure if I put those outside in seperate box. And still some wires.. Y servo has cables too, little nicer couplings...
Glued a pulley yesterday with Loctite, we will see if it holds..

Some testing today with Linuxcnc:

Ok, after +9month break, I'm back at this.. Started few days ago to make some progress, but there is still plenty to do.
I had to buy new computer because there were some latency issues with my...

Didn't have time to get rest of the small parts for electronics today, so those should be done in monday.. Encoders should arrive in tuesday, and...
Sadly it's April 1st here already.. Couldn't resist. :o
Still waiting some parts, and pulleys are not done. My friend still haven't got a new boring bar, so I think I might have to look up a...
Ok, all necessary things are done and chips are flying!
Yeah, hopefully they will be nice.
Some lazy update:

Normal mess in the table (and computer with Internet, finally), VFD has found a new home, still incomplete. X servo turned to...
Wow, almost a week without an update. I have been waiting some parts and needed to do other things so things aren't moving so fast atm. And we can't make the pulleys with my friends lathe before he...

I think I will add sensors for spindle AND motor so I can monitor belt slippage etc. And since my VFD have max. 32kHz freq. for encoder...
Verified this with light through the spindle.

My biggest concern after cutting that hole bigger was protecting y ballscrew. I was thinking something like my friends lathe had, some kind...
Not sure if it will fit, I think it would hit my Y motor mounting plate since it has that slope. By the way my table is "800mm" = 798mm = ~31.42", not 32.5".
Those are looking really good! Now I almost want to rotate my X axis servo so that Y cover would fit.. I think you should offer those also without that X cover since all of us doesn't use limit...
I don't know if there is any room for that kind of solution. Not sure why it would be best on the motor since belt can (and will) slip?
Z belt pulley now fits.. And new lid and motor flange is...
No, I don't. My friend has one, but it's ~50km drive and isn't always available. Maybe 5-6 weeks now? Hopefully I can get all the parts for the power supply this week, and some cables so I could test...
What kind of coolant pump do you have? Are those Loclines 1/4"?
I'm starting to hate these out-of-specs tolerances/fittings.. Had to ground the z axis ball screw also, and now it seems that pulley won't fit.. Damn! :D

Yep, bottom will be open and I think those connections should be now sealed as I added some "silicone" to them. Time will tell.. :)
I will make covers for them so hopefully coolant won't be a problem..
X kinda mounted with belt..

It now fits:

Those wires aren't so nice to route as they leave the motor in a stupid angle, but luckily they are quite flexible..
