Thanks for the feedback guys. Phil, that's a great idea. Thanks.
My customer-base has changed, and I need to machine longer parts than I planned with my 770.
Instead of machining half of the part, then repositioning it, and trying to get it lined up correctly...
Hi,
I do a bunch of plate-work. Most of it is .155" acrylic sheet. After buying the machine, my customer-base has changed, and I need to fab longer pieces. I'm familiar with using dowels, and...
I cut holes in my plates, so I'm not sure how I could get rid of the spoil board. I also only make one-plate "runs". I never make more than one of a particular design.
Some parts are over 30" long. I honestly never planned on making parts this big, but you have to go where the work is.
I'm getting requests for parts longer than my 14" of X-travel. I've been able to get them done using a reference-hole in the part, and moving the part down, etc.
But, it's slow and a pain in...
Wow. Please let us know.
No regrets here.
You wouldn't be able to force the coolant throught the filter without the water pressure from the pump. The pump is designed to pump coolant with small chips in it. The impeller is not tight to the...
It's the biggest 1/4 horsepower motor I have seen.
I attached a piece of plastic rain gutter on the back, and sloped it toward the coolant resevoir on the side. My next house, I'm having the back easily accessible to clean out the chips. The...
Well, I can upload to Photobucket, but it won't let me accept the privacy agreement. If I can figure out the problem, I'll post pics. I can email to you if you want.

I found a Graymills coolant pump on Craigslist for $45. It was in rough shape, but after some TLC, it works great. You can use Searchtempest to search Craigslist in a larger area.
I ordered...
Instead of the USB plate, I just ran a long USB cable to the PC, and mounted the other end near the keyboard to plug in my flash drive. A long USB cable is $4.00 on eBay. I put the CPU (case) in...
Congrats on your first part! It's all gravy from now on...................okay, not really, but it will still be fun. :P
I had a stepper-driver go bad about two weeks after getting my 770.
Tormach helped me diagnose it over the phone, and shipped one out right away. They even included a pre-paid shipping label to...
Thanks for posting that.
Thanks. That worked.
I just stripped the hex out of my .25" holder. It had a mystery size for a hex key. Metric didn't fit tight and SAE didn't either.
Now, I need to drill the darn thing out. I should have...
I was used to the controller on the big CNC mills, and was worried about the transition to the jog-shuttle from Tormach.
I was pleasantly surprised how easy the switch was. I'm very happy with...
I want to take a moment to clarify my position.
I have a real sore spot about some machine-sellers out there. Many are selling poorly retrofitted manual mills or poorly-manufactured CNC mills...
I need to import some logos and other basic graphics into a software program that works well with Mach3 for engraving. I don't forsee anything more than simple 2-D engraving in my future.
I use...
I'm happy with my Tormach, so I have no inclination to help their competition.
Tormach risked their time, money and peaceful-sleep getting the product and service right to start (and maintain)...
Congrats!
Okay, Ive had my 770 for about three weeks, and I added an enclosure to help contain the coolant and chips.
One issue I see on the 770 is "How to remove chips from the trough under the machine". ...
Like other folks, I checked the forums before buying. On the Tormach forum, you see many questions like "How do I make this, change this, do this?", not my machine is not working, and I can't get a...
I agree that the four-flute end mill is likely a big part of the problem.

This turned out to be it. I've never seen a fuse-holder like that. I guess that's why I didn't find it :p. I put in a 5A slow-blow, and it's working great now.
Thanks for all the replies.
