    Symptoms of overheating Drivers?

Today my CNC ruined a job. Instead of cutting straight lines it cut wobbly lines. There might be a friction issue present that I am trying to sort out.

However, I also found that the power supply...

Flange Bearings to Stiff. What can I do?

My CNC uses 6 of these bearings. They are supposed to allow for some angular alignment because the bearing itself can swivel inside the housing. But my bearings are super stiff. They don't align...
  3. Cutting Strategy for large Plywood Sheets

I just finished building my 1.2x1.5m router. I did a 2D test cut on hard european plywood and was quite impressed by the amount of material I can remove at once.

    Bit diameter: 4mm

  4. Which End Mills should I buy at the start?

My 2x2m CNC is almost done for its first cut. I plan to cut up to 20mm plywood.

What cutters would you recommend? What size and material?

    How many of each?

Can the cutting edge be smaller...

    Makita or Kress Router?

Which router would you recommend for cutting large sheets of plywood? The Kress is more powerfull but also more difficult to mount.

    Router/Spindle Reccomendations

I am almost done building my 1.5x1.8m CNC. Originally I planned to use my Bosh router as a spindle, but the mounting turned out to be very difficult.

Which router can you reccomend? I want to cut...

    Slipping Coupling

I got couplings similar to the one in the link, but made from aluminium instead. In the past I had only negative experience with these kind of couplings that clamp the shaft. Do you think I need to...

Re: Do you think this will be cool enough?

Yeah, but where do I get the PC power supply from? Got no space left. Maybe Ill find a simple 12 volt adapter in the garage that I can use.

    Thanks!

I guess I could just connect the 3 fans in series and power them off the 36volts power supply? Or should I get an extra adapter?

Re: Do you think this will be cool enough?

The PS have their own fan build in, one of them is pointed outside through a hole in the box. I put the fans on the outside of the box. Got to figure out a good way to filter the air. Don´t want to...

Thanks, I made a mistake. They are 10A not 16. So I need both.

    Re: Lead Screw Pitch recommendations?

Why? According to this it would require about 0.8Nm. More than the motors supply. The 222N are 50lbs which I found as a reference for routers.

    Lead Screw Pitch recommendations?

I am building a 1.8x1.5m CNC. Mainly for plywood and possibly small aluminum parts if that will work.

I will use Nema 23 motors and trapezoidal (metric) screws.

So what pitch should I get?...

    Re: Electronics Advice Needed

I have no idea Gerry. What speed is a good rate? I thought I rather make it slower if that saves money and makes it more precice. I´ve build a 3D printer 2 years ago and I am used to 15hour prints.

    Electronics Advice Needed

I am building a large CNC 1.8x1,5m frame. 6foot x 5foot. The frame is sorted and very sturdy.
I would like to cut Plywood in large sheets and also do some small aluminum parts if that will work.
