    Project onto surface

Can the profile tool path feature be made to project onto a contoured surface like the v-carve feature?

For some reason the v-carve feature has some problems projecting single line type fonts, or more likely it's just operator error:tired:.

Yes. Just check the "Project Toolpath onto 3D Model" checkbox at the bottom of the Profile Toolpath Dialog.

Sorry Gerry, I forgot to mention that I am trying to project single line fonts on the 3D model. True Type Fonts seem to work OK but the single line fonts created within Aspire seem to be troublesome. I keep getting an open vector error.......Paul

After you create the text, you need to convert it to curves, then use the profile toolpath on the converted vectors.

My final attempt to project a profile onto a surface -- the procedure this time was as with the others and truthfully I'm at a loss as to why my first attempts failed.

open vector error comes when you try to call an operation what require closed vectors..
pocketing, vcarving... and I believe sometime the vector Booleans also generate it..
