I checked the manuals on the Gecko website for the rev's that were shown and they all say 10 micro steps.

I'd say yes
as far as I know the G540 was designed to demonstrate the G250 microstep stepper driver
( four G250's are used in the G540)
The earliest manual I've found is for the G250 v2

Afaik, all Gecko drives have always been 10 microsteps.
Every stepper drive Gecko has ever made is 10 ustep. Later drives have anti resonance (adjustable) and "morphing" so the microstepping cuts out at higher RPM where it is ineffective and increases torque by using full step.
Thanks to all that replied. I had the feeling the G540 was fixed at 10 microsteps.
Reason I was asking I was having problems calculating the steps per inch for this engraver I have and couldn't see why my calculations were so way off.
Turns out I ended up using the steps per unit adjustment mode in Mach3 and that found the correct number to use. So won't be dwelling on this calc. any more
and can now get back to engraving.
