Extraction to atmosphere help
Hiya all
I have a laser pro x252 that I use with a BOFA extraction unit. I cut mostly 2mm MDF/medite and I'm going through filter quite quickly and they are very expensive. I want to try extraction to atmosphere.
My original plan was to extract to air with an Axminster Hobby series AWDE5002. I never used it with the supplied bag but ran it with some ducting out of window but it never worked well at all and the laser (and workshop!) soon filled with fumes.
I want to explore extracting to air again and would really like some advice about choice of extractor unit. Ideally a quite extractor that doesn't require three phase would be great.
Thank you.
Nige.

Re: Extraction to atmosphere help
Hi,
I don't know the exact english translation, but I use a tube-mounted ventilator.
Attached there isa big carbon filter. Both the filter and ventilator I bought in the Netherlands at a homegrow shop..
works pretty good and silent!

Hi laserMark,
Thanks, I'm trying to avoid getting a solution with a filter to keep the price down :)

Re: Extraction to atmosphere help
you might look into a large bilge blower, their cheap and noisy but they pull a lot of air. I use one on my laser works well.
