Can a single VFD power 3 identical spindles simultaneously?
I am seeking to purchase three identical low-power spindles, and would like to save money by purchasing a single 1.5kW VFD to power them, instead of three VFDs.
Since these are identical spindles, and I only need them to all run at the same speed, can I get away with this?
What else should I be aware of?
Thanks.
Re: Can a single VFD power 3 identical spindles simultaneously?
I assume you mean run all three of them simultaneously? I have done this in the past with a dual turret lathe using a WEG VFD for both spindles.
Although the spindles were operating each end of the same load held between them.
I would think in this case a V/F mode should take care of the varying loads that may occur, rather than a sensorless vector version.
